Just Another Day in Paradise

Seriously… can I please not go back to DC?!

I’m so obsessed with the beach!!

…But let’s start at the beginning of the day! Willow and I went out for a short run, I did an impromptu boot camp style workout in the living room with a medicine ball (I’ll be posting some new exercise moves once I’m back in DC, by the way!), and then my cousin Derek and I headed to HOLLYWOOD!

Look, I found Harry Potter! Heh.

022

And Mickey and Marilyn (who was scarily realistic)!

024 027 Swoon:

018

Derek gave me a driving tour of Sunset Blvd (featuring all the various bars/clubs where celebs have OD’ed, of course) and Beverly Hills, and then my dreams came true:

034

Yesssssss!!! Pinkberry, fuel of the stars!

035

039

After the foodgasm, Willow and I jetted off to Malibu!

I love seeing all these places I always hear about. “Oh yeah, just going to Malibu for the afternoon, no big deal…”

050 043

It was pretty much ridiculously amazing and we spent a good hour and a half playing on the beach and taking photos.

056 057

We started with some Operation Beautiful love in the sand :)

109And then… the sun set. HOLY CRAP!!!!!

Paradise.

Okay I think I’m cut off from photos. :) Except to show you my incredible dinner:

Mmmmmm Ahi Tuna… I love thee!

Time to get ready for the day! It’s looking gorgeous again and today’s adventure will involve hiking around the Hollywood sign area… YAY!!

What’s the most beautiful beach you’ve been to? Malibu may take the cake, rivaled by some of the beaches I visited while studying abroad in Australia during college :)

  2. 2

Those scenes are absolutely gorgeous!! And I LOVE the note. :)

Malibu is AAAAAAAAH-mazing, but the best beach I’ve ever been to was in Tortola BVI – white sand, gentle waves – all I need now is a cup of rum punch and i’m in heaven!

love (ADORE) your pictures from this trip! :)

Gotta say st. Maarten had some amazing beaches!! I’m so jealous of your warm weather but glad you are having such a super fun time! Come back tan :)

Anne – I am insanely jealous of your CA trip. Your pictures are amazing! I just spent 4 days in St. Louis where the temperature barely topped 20, so beaches and flip-flops look lovely.

  6. 6

    Beautiful photos!

  7. 7

I’m so jealous! That area is sooo beautiful! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

  8. 8

That ahi tuna looks INCREDIBLE. Like it was just caught

  9. 9

Where did you study abroad in Australia? I’m thinking about it. :)

I studied in Brisbane at Griffith University. Seriously the most amazing experience of my life. GO!!! :) And go to New Zealand while you’re there, too! -Anne

I love the “You are Beautiful” note in the sand. I’m designing a “beachside cottage” nursery for my soon-to-be-born child. Would you mind if I made a print of your pic to frame? Love the blog by the way- I followed a link from Eat.Live.Run :-)

Oh wow, what an amazing idea! I would love if you used it! :) Just please give me credit if you post pics of it on your blog or anything :) Please send me a photo of it when you’re done, too! Yay! -Anne

  11. 11

My favorite is Trunk Bay in St. John, but I think all the beaches in STJ are pretty fantabulous!

  12. 12

seriously…can we just move there? I bet it doesn’t rain. haha

  13. 13

I am jealous! It is freezing in Boston! Looks like you are having fun. I have always wanted to try Pinkberry! Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

  14. 14

I just made your operation beautiful my background at work on my desktop.
    Thanks!

    Aw I’m honored!! :) -Anne

  15. 15

This reminds me of when I used to live there 2 yrs ago. Did you go to Manhattan Beach? That was my ultimate favorite. So pretty and very quiet! Looks like you are having fun!

Sadly we didn’t go there. So many beaches, so little time!!! :) -Anne

  16. 16

Gorgeous photos – including that salad! The most gorgeous beach I’ve ever been to was on the island of St. John. Lovely beaches and excellent snorkeling!

  17. 17

Wow! Those pics are gorgeous! So jealous! I would have to say that the prettiest beach I’ve been to was in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I’ve always wanted to go to Pinkberry too! I bet it was delish!

  18. 18

Wow-beautiful pictures and I love the operation beautiful note.

Trust me you don’t want to come back to DC. It’s freezing cold and there’s a possibility of a wintry mix Thursday night!! Enjoy the warmth and sunshine while you can :)

Ughhhh noooo!!!! Boo D.C., Thurs night is when I am supposed to get back!! -Anne

  19. 19

Ah! I remember that SAME Marilyn Monroe figure when I was in Hollywood! And Pinkberry was an absolutely MUST when in CA!

Wow, amazing vacay! I don’t blame you for not wanting to come back.

Best best I have ever been to was Laguna. If you have time to see Laguna….GO!!!! It’s just like you would imagine. Amazing!

Oh man I would LOVE to go to Laguna but sadly we don’t have time :( I used to love that TV show, heh ;) -Anne

Hi Anne, I’ve been reading your blog for a little bit now, it’s wonderful! Just wanted to say yay for Aussie beaches, being from Sydney myself :-) Also can I ask what camera you use? Your photos are absolutely stunning! I’m thinking of a) getting a DSLR and b) starting a food health and beauty blog.

Thanks! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Aussie Aussie Aussie… Oi Oi Oi!!! :)
I actually just have a point and shoot camera! It’s a Fuji Film Z20. The only time it isn’t great is in dim lighting/at night, which is why I hardly ever post when I go out to eat at restaurants! I’m saving up for a manual digital because I LOVE taking photos as you can see :) -Anne

  22. 22

this is going to sound dramatic but you just made my heart ACHE with those malibu photos!! i’m so glad you caught the sunset!!
i got to live in malibu for a year and it was pure bliss!!! i worked at pepperdine and literally stared at the ocean out my window all day!

    NOTHING beats malibu!

i dont go back enough, and it’s stupid really… i would have free lodging and everything… THAT IS IT!! i’m going back asap… thanks to this post and your photos!! =)

YAY! Take me with you ;) -Anne

I’m jealous of the scenery there….and your tuna.
