There’s nothing quite like celebrating the 4th of July in our nation’s capital.
It was a beautiful night to celebrate America’s birthday
I love the 4th of July. We used to spend it up in New York with my dad’s parents when my brother and I were little, in the super cute little town where my dad grew up. I always think of those happy, hot summer days in New York with my family. It was the best — they had a parade, a pet show, 3 legged races, the works. On the night of the 4th, everyone in town would gather around the lake in town for the fireworks, and the kids would go to work trying to get as many glow sticks on their bodies as possible.
My favorite parts of the 4th of July:
BBQing with friends:
Being allowed to be obnoxiously patriotic:
(Flag cake and patriotic strawberries courtesy of my college friend Sarah!)
And, of course, fireworks
What’s your favorite part of the 4th of July? How did you spend the holiday growing up?
I’ll be back tomorrow to continue my Stonyfield Blogger Barnstorming Tour recaps! I hope you all had a GREAT holiday weekend full of family, friends, and happiness
