Gooooooooooooood morning!
It’s a GORGEOUS morning here in D.C. — we had a big storm on Sunday night that finally cooled things back down a bit!
Man, I’m going to miss that view!
I met Heather this morning for a lovely 5 mile run to start out the day right
Clearly running = my morning coffee!
We had a great run — 5.11 miles in 44:45, for an average pace of 8:45. Good conversation, good weather, and a decent pace, too! The miles flew by
Stats:
- Mile 1: 8:47
- Mile 2: 8:45
- Mile 3: 8:52
- Mile 4: 8:50
- Mile 5: 8:42
- 0.11 Nub: 7:23 (Gotta end with a sprint!)
Running is the best way to start a day!
The other best way to start a day is with one of my vegan Almond Butter Banana Breakfast Bars
YUM! I love these. I had half of one before heading out on the run, too
Along with my breakfast bar, I enjoyed some nonfat plain Greek yogurt and fruit. Delish!
The perfect post-run breakfast
And now — it’s back to studying I go! I will be SO happy when this class is over…
Have a great day!

Anne, that first picture is absolutely gorgeous!
Yes – the first photo TOOK MY BREATH AWAY!!!!!
LOVE THE FIRST PICTURE!
I love that you found a trail to run on in DC. It was one of my biggest complaints of living there. I could never find anywhere with shade to run.
Really?? I feel like DC has an abundance of trails! Love it!
A morning run and a yummy breakfast… nothing better!
Well, looks like we almost needed a pic of you saving me from that river grime. Apparently I lean, and run? Ha, weird.
Loved this morning jaunt! And my breakfast bar treat! Round 2, coming up.
i bet it’s so nice to get a great run in before work! i would love to get my rear out of bed in the mornings for a run…but sometimes it’s just so warm and snuggly in there
I love that first photo! DC really does have some great trials. (I bike, not run.) Where’s that one?
It’s the C&O Canal!
I am impressed that you are so awake and energized looking in that picture! I don’t think I could ever be that excited about running (especially early in the morning) but it is pretty clear that you are loving it!
Great 5 mile run! I’m trying to make 5 miles my new 3.
Good luck with the studying!
You can do it!
Looks awesome Anne! Which park at you running in?? I agree with Dorry above.. I’m trying to make running 4-6 miles my new 2-3 miles. It’s been a little tough going!
It’s the C&O Canal! And you can do it
Just take is slow!
I want that breakfast! Guess I’ll have to make some of those bars
love the pics! I love running outside!
Great run! It rained here last night and it was a little cooler this morning as well
I’ve never seen trails like that in DC. Then again I’ve only gone as a tourist for a day or two. I would love to find a good place to run for my next trip.
Great run + great breakfast = great day!
The bars look delish! I’m going to try making them over the weekend (I had no idea how expensive Almond Butter is – I should have entered your contest a couple of weeks ago!! ) After making the small investment (ha-ha), I hope I like Almond Butter!
I love storms but the best thing about them is the “cool off” effect it has on summer weather. We are experiencing the same thing here in Chicago.
i ran 5 mi. this morning too, only my scenery wasn’t nearly as pretty! gorgeous photos. also, i am now dying to make those bars!!!
That view is so gorgeous. I miss the east coast!
Great run and a great breakfast! A winning combination
Gorgeous day for a 5 mile run!
Beautiful view!! Good friends and good views always make running so much better.
Nothing like great scenery to make time fly. I did 6.5 this morning (way more than my usual 3). I was window shopping the whole time. I have a ways to go before my times are as good as yours though
Damn girl I’m impressed!
