2010 Year in Review – Part 1

Good morning!

I’m off to my first day of my second semester of grad school (if you’re just tuning in — I’m at UNC-Chapel Hill for their MPH in Nutrition to become an RD), so in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to do a 2010 year in review recap! Yes, a bit belated, just roll with it ;) 2010 was for me a year of lots of travel, major change, and life decisions. It started out a little turbulent, but by the time the year began to come to a close I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be :)

At the start of 2010 I was:

  • single
  • living in DC by myself
  • applying to grad schools
  • working part time as an editor
  • taking prerequisites at a local community college

By year end I was:

  • living in NC with Matt
  • blogging as my part time job
  • finishing my first semester of grad school at UNC

Whew. What a year — enjoy the recap!

I kind of figured you had known Matt before, you too look like you belong together. Any man that would travel 4-5 hours per week just to be with you is a keeper. Love your recap and you are really living life to its fullest. And by the way, you are a keeper too.

  7. 9

You had a great year! Hope 2011 is just as good, or better!
I love how you balance fun, traveling and healthy living. Keep it up :)

  8. 10

  9. 11

I wish my favorite bloggers would divulge how they make blogging a “part-time job”. Just through advertising??

    Amazing year Anne :)

  10. 13

What a crazy travel filled year! And you’ve only posted about the first six months. Awesome!

  11. 14

this is a great recap for me – i only started following your blog about a month ago, so thanks for catching me up on your life! :)

  12. 15

Wow, you’ve had a crazy, fun year!

  13. 16

I’m new to DC. Any suggestions on good things to get involved with to meet people that you did while living in the area?

    • 17

I was lucky to have both high school friends and a lot of college friends in the area (and I had a bunch of different jobs while there, so lots of work friends), but I’d recommend a couple things: 1) If you’re a runner, join running groups (local running stores, like Pacers and Potomac River Running, all have free running groups, as does Meetup.com), 2) If you like yoga, they have free classes at the Lululemon stores, 3) Join Meetup.com and go to meetups depending what you’re interested in – I went on some hiking trips and met running groups a couple times and it was fun meeting some new people!

      Enjoy DC, it’s fabulous!

  14. 18

Holy cow you had an amazing year!!
