Attune Foods Brunch Party & Breakfast Kit Giveaway!

Hello and happy Monday!

And by happy Monday, I really mean can we go back to the weekend instead? Mine was particularly fun because on Saturday following my 7 mile training run I hosted a brunch party at my place for my grad school girls! (We missed you, Elder & Kort!)

051

The occasion? Attune Foods sent me an awesome breakfast party kit! It included 6 go bowls (pictured below) to give out as party favors and a bunch of boxes of cereal to use to create some fun baked goods, too.

017

I LOVE those go bowls — perfect size and great for packed yogurt and fruit. Love the screw top, too! Plus, they are BPA free and made out of recycled yogurt cups.

I decided to do a potluck brunch since the girls and I usually like doing potlucks — more fun for guests to participate, too! My responsibility? Baked goods, of course. :)

023

I had fun perusing the recipe section on the Attune Foods website to decide what to make — they have some awesome stuff up there! I decided to make two different baked goods — one using one of their recipes and one a creation of my own.

027

Here’s the recipe I used from their site: Uncle Sam Vegan Walnut Pumpkin Bread.

021

I would never have thought to use cereal in a bread recipe — loved it! The only change I made was using regular milk instead of dairy free.

033

020

And for my own creation, I made Peanut Butter & Jelly Muffins!

029

These were amazing — so flavorful! I used Erewhon Rice Twice cereal in it and loved it — fun texture AND the batter crackled and popped. ;)

034

I’ll be sharing the recipe for these muffins in my next Attune guest post — so stay tuned! It’s a good one.

028

The girls brought all sorts of delicious food for us to enjoy, too. Elle made a yummy egg and veggie casserole (recipe here) — topped with cheese and bacon!

044

Anything topped with cheese and bacon is a win, let’s be honest. Elle was smart and baked half of it at home so it wasn’t runny, then added the cheese and bacon on the top and baked it the rest of the way at my place. Genius!

041

Libby brought a French press and made us all lattes! They were even better than Starbucks. :)

038

She also brought some roasted Brussels sprouts for a little veggie action — SO good.

Jill and her boyfriend Danny made apple and peach cobblers:

043

Also very yummy!

042

Stephanie brought the champagne for mimosas, obviously:

040

Lol, love that photo.

And Matt was in charge of making the bacon. :)

036

He actually used our panini press to cook it and it worked out perfectly since most of the fat was able to drip off!

037

It was quite the feast.

045

And of course I sent the girls home with their very own Attune go bowls! Being in grad school = packing a lot of breakfasts and lunches = they were clearly pumped.

So, want to host your own Attune breakfast/brunch party? Attune Foods has offered to give away a breakfast party kit like the one I received to one of you guys! The breakfast party kit would include 6 go bowls, 6 bamboo spoons, and a few boxes of cereal (your choice).

Here’s how to enter to win — each option is an additional entry!

  1. Leave a comment telling me your favorite brunch food (links to recipes are welcome!).
  2. Follow me on twitter if you aren’t already, then tweet about this contest (include a link to this post and @fannetasticfood). Leave another comment telling me you tweeted.
  3. If you have a blog, mention and link back to this contest in one of your posts, and then leave another comment letting me know you blogged about it.
  4. Mention and link back to this contest on Facebook, then leave another comment telling me you Facebooked it. Please make sure you have “liked” fANNEtastic food on Facebook, too!

Be sure to post a separate comment for each entry option you do.

U.S. Residents only, please. Good luck! I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday (October 5, 2011) morning.

p.s. Speaking of Attune Foods — they are currently hosting a recipe challenge! There are 3 separate challenges (October, November, December) — October’s challenge is creation of a treat recipe using their cereal. The prizes are awesome — each month a winner will get a $200 grocery store gift card, $200 to charity, AND your recipe will be printed on the box of cereal you used to make it! How cool is that? I’m one of the judges, so I can’t wait to see what you all come up with. Click here for more details. :)

I love those bowls :) My favorite brunch food is actually pancakes — a brunch with a pancake bar where people can add whatever toppings they choose = win!

  2. 2

What a great group brunch! My favorite brunch food is bagels with lox

  3. 3

My favorite brunch food – cinnamon french toast!

  4. 4

And I mentioned this on my blog’s Facebook page:
    http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fitness-Feta/214036871991588

  5. 5

Omelets are my favorite brunch food!

  6. 6

How fun! My favorite brunch food is a spinach, mushroom, feta omlet!

  7. 7

Oh I love this idea! I love potlucks and I love brunch! I want to win!! My favorite brunch meal is sharing something sweet (like pancakes) with a friend who’s ordered an omelet! Perfection!

  8. 8

    I tweeted!!

  9. 9

I love your potluck brunch idea – I’m always looking for a reason to get my girls together! Whenever we go on family/group vacations I love bringing an egg casserole, prep it before we go and just reheat in the morning for everyone to enjoy! I always search for a new recipe every time and usually end up putting my own spin on things.

  10. 10

I tweeted about the giveaway! @LiveHuzzah

  11. 11

My favorite brunch creation is a crustless quiche (an egg bake?). I make it up and it’s different every time, but always tasty!

  12. 12

I love quiche! I also love muffins – anything with chocolate chips specifically.

  13. 13

Looks like a fun party! There is a restaurant here that specializes in brunch and lunch called Press 102 (specialize in “pressed” dishes…paninis, espresso, etc). My all time favorite brunch item there is the “102 Chicken & Waffles Panino” with espresso infused maple syrup! Absolutely decadent and sinful, perfect after a girls night out! I fell in love with this dish the morning after my 30th birthday…following a big party and lots of champagne! (Press 102 is here: http://press102.com/menus)

But, if I’m cooking, I’m big on baby spinach and feta omelets or baking as a casserole. No special recipe, I just add garlic, onion powder (or real, minced super fine), and dry mustard to eggs, spinach and feta (sometimes I use plain, sometimes the tomato basil crumbles). Depending on who is eating I may add diced tomato, mushrooms, green peppers, etc. Bake slightly undercooked and remove from heat, let set and then it’s not rubbery! If you want more cheese go with shredded swiss or jarlsberg.

A diner in my town has the best caramel french toast. It is simply to die for. They also make an amazing Italian Hash. I love to make scrambled eggs with a pile of veggies and cheese. I had found a recipe over on CarrotsNCake for Mini tomatoe fritattas a few months ago, and that is a regular in my kitchen too. I can’t wait to see the recipe for your muffins.

  15. 15

I always make a veggie quiche for brunch. All your food looks so yummy!

  16. 16

I love fannetastic food recipes:Scrambled Egg Muffin, Walnut Pumpkin Bread, and Zucchini Muffins, all of which I have made. Delish. The bowls are perfect when the grand kids are running late and I can send them off to school with a bowl of cereal to eat in the cafeteria waiting for the homeroom bell to ring.
