I hope all of you aren’t buried in snow! According to Weather.com, the north east is experiencing “Snowtober.” You’re so clever, Weather.com. No snow here — just some much colder weather!
Lady Anne and Sir Matt are pleased to make your acquaintance.
Hehe. I totally wish I had lived back in the day and gotten to wear cool dresses like that all the time. We rented the costumes from a place here in Chapel Hill called Dance Design — big fan! They had SO many costumes and not very pricey, either.
We met up with friends Steph, Elle, and Khalil at the party (plus Libby and Laura — unpictured):
I don’t know how people wore feathers in their hats back in the day and didn’t knock people over with them all the time. Please note Steph getting maimed by Matt’s feather in the photo.
The Eve Ball was fun — they had drinks and dessert, dancing, and a costume contest! My favorite was this couple, who were from the Titanic:
How creative (if not entirely PC, but that’s what Halloween is for) is that?!? They looked AWESOME. Here’s a close up I pilfered from the Franklin St. Yoga Facebook page:
Isn’t that AMAZING?! They looked so awesome — every detail was perfect, down to her necklace! I wish I had asked how they did the fake icicles. There was also a guy with a blow up light bulb around him — and he actually lit up! He was a big hit, too.
Yesterday was spent being productive around the house since the weather was crummy. I went to kickboxing in the morning (awesome workout — my arms are SO SORE today!), and then Matt and I both knocked a ton of stuff of our to do lists. I also made a big batch of my Veggie-tastic Minestrone Soup (recipe here) for us for lunch!
Matt loves this soup — especially with added hot sauce! I love that it’s so versatile and easy to make. It’s a great way to use up extra veggies! The photo above is recycled — yesterday’s soup included mushrooms, peas, carrots, spinach, and zucchini. Delish!
The Halloween fun continued last night — Matt and I had randomly bought a Living Social deal awhile ago for a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater and last night was the big night.
The other side of their sign cracked us up — Zumba, Puppet Show… Murder Mystery Dinner Theater?! Most random lineup ever.
The show was pretty cheesy but fun. Matt even got to be a character! He was “Housekeeping #1” and called on to report for clean up of dead bodies.
He was also accused of the murder at the end, but got out of it. I still think it was him.
I was part of the “dance team” at the beginning of the show, which was also hilarious.
I’m the one in the middle back looking awesome/confused
Good times. Definitely a fun and different way to spend a night!
The sun has come back out today so I think some outdoor play time is in order, plus some more endless to do list tackling… and possibly some pumpkin carving. I can’t believe we haven’t carved any yet this year!
Have you ever been to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater?
