Dear Sunshine

Dear Sunshine,

I’m so glad we’re morning workout buddies again.

Love, Anne

Good morning! Can we just talk for a second about how amazing that whole clock change thing is? I’m back in Chapel Hill and met my friend Genna for our usual Tuesday a.m. track workout this morning — and it was so gloriously bright and sunshine-y when we arrived. Upgrade!! No more pitch black morning workouts!

I mean, the fact that it will be dark by 5:30 p.m. now totally sucks… but it’s all give and take here, people. Totally worth it for a.m. sunshine. :)

Genna and I did our usual jog the curves, sprint the straights workout with boot camp moves in between, and were out there for about 45 minutes. We’re still focusing on lots of hip/lateral leg strengthening stuff — it seems to be working!

I brought my camera out to play for our cool down lap — we had fun getting shots of each other in action :)

We were cracking up over this one:

Hehe. I always have fun working out with Genna. :) We were pretty much talking nonstop the whole time.

In other news, I had a stroke of brilliance yesterday and while my mom and I were out running errands, we swung by Whole Foods so I could get dinner for the plane last night.

Not having to spend a billion dollars on something gross at the airport? Total win. I love the Whole Foods salad bar — I got a mix of a garlicky kale salad, beets, a chickpea/olive salad, a really good quinoa and feta cheese salad, some green beans, and buried under there is a little tofu, too. Delish. :)

Time to get back after it — lots to catch up on today. Off to class I go — have a great Tuesday!

Have you guys been taking advantage of the extra morning sunshine, too?

Whole Foods was my staple dinner when I was traveling a lot when I was at school. It was right by the airport :)

You def. had a stroke of genius, looks great. I wish there was a Whole Foods close to me, but the nearest one is in Atlanta about 32 miles away. Boo. Have a wonderful Tuesday, Anne.

Finally! Someone else who likes this time change! I love it being light in the morning and getting dark earlier. :)

Went on my first morning run with my new run-buddy today and it.was.amazing!!! The sun was out and we just chatted the whole time!! I WAS hating the time change because it’s so dark when I get off work, but now I am looking at the positive that there is SUN in the morning!! Looking forward to more morning runs as I just signed up for my FIRST half marathon yesterday, in April!! ah!

I love the fact that when I head to the office at 6:20 its starting to get light out! I would much rather it be light in the morning the pitch black! Hope you have a great day!

I still have to wake up when it’s still dark outside if I’m going to workout before work, but the sun starts poking through around 6am and it’s lovely! Waking up in the dark makes it sooooo hard to workout, especially if there’s no hope of sunshine. Looks like another fun day at the track!

I miss track workouts!! Now that the sun is out again I think I will have to get back out there :)

  8. 9

Yay! So happy we won’t be running in the dark on Thursday morning… although with the sun going down so early, 8pm might become my new bedtime.

  9. 11

I love the time change for the morning sunshine too – I’d much rather morning sun than evening sun!

  10. 12

The sunshine has made SUCH a difference in my mood…and now I actually want to get up for workouts in the morning!

  11. 13

Definitely! I do dislike getting out of work and it is pitch black, but I enjoy the extra sunshine in the AM!

  12. 14

Bright sunshine, healthy and fun exercise regime, yummy food right after sweating it just completes the list. Good morning sunshine! :)
