Welcome to my December sponsor shout out post! I’ve got some great blogs and companies to share with you – please join me in showing them some love.
Interested in becoming a fANNEtastic sponsor, too? Check out my sponsor page for more details.
This first sponsor is a special one and I want to make sure to do the description justice, so instead of paraphrasing I’ll let Margaret, the author of the blog and book, explain in her own words:
My blog "The Ordinary Life of an Extraordinary Girl" shares our journey as parents of a 19 year old with down syndrome. I started writing three years ago and have written about sports, boys, proms, high school graduation, college and all the other events that occur in any teenagers life.
I strive to demystify down syndrome and share with the world that just like all kids, kids with special needs deserve respect and the opportunity to participate in the community and contribute to the best of their abilities. I have also written a book for new families with a child with down syndrome, but most importantly the rest of our community so they can understand and learn more about families with children with special needs. "From Grief to Celebration, How One Family Learned to Embrace the Gift of Down Syndrome".
Our daughter Alex was recently selected to represent the USA in the World Winter Special Olympic Games in South Korea in January. She is one of 150 athletes from the US and will compete in alpine skiing. To that end – I am really trying to get the word out on our book, to help raise funds for our trip.
I would really encourage all of you to check out both her blog and the book. I can’t wait to read the book; I’ve been reading the blog and it’s so powerful and well written.
Switching gears now to Five Bamboo! You guys probably already know by now that I LOVE this company. Their clothes are all really cute and soft, and they make all their clothing out of bamboo with minimal environmental impact. Win-win!
I especially love Five Bamboo’s dresses. For warmer weather, I have the Hopscotch Dress and the Rohre Dress; for cold weather, I love their Ballerina Dress and Holliday Dress. Their Fireside Cowl shirt is also a fave. They also sell men’s clothes and both women’s and men’s undergarments.
Insider tip: use the coupon code “fannetasticbamboo” at checkout to receive 20% off your entire order!
Want tips from a busy NYC professional who’s still fitting in exercise (and fun)? Check out Ashley from A Healthy, Happier Bear; her tagline is “striving for moderation in the city that never sleeps” and that’s certainly what she’s been doing. On her blog you’ll find daily inspiration, running training updates, meals and recipes, and travel adventures.
KLUTCHclub is a subscription company that delivers health, wellness, and fitness products right to your door. Each box costs about $18 and contains more than $50 worth of nutrition, beverage, supplement, skincare, and fitness products; they offer both men’s and women’s boxes, too. I feel like this would be a fun surprise gift to a friend who needs a pick me up – or just a great way to try some fun new products yourself, too! It was like Christmas morning opening the box.
Here’s what was in the box I received:
- C. Booth Body Butter
- Giovanni Cosmetics
- Berry Plus
- Funky Monkey Snacks
- Jaali Bean
- Lush Gourmet Foods
- Soy Joy
- Seer Outfitters
I didn’t love all the products, but it was definitely fun to try some new stuff (and to get such a fun surprise box in the mail, too)!
Insider tip: use the coupon code “ANNE” at checkout to get 20% off all memberships (1, 3, and 12 months)!
Last but not least – Charlie from The Runner Beans! Charlie (aka Charlotte) blogs from London about her transition to healthy living as she tries to balance exercise, eating well, and having fun. To read more about Charlie, check out her “about me” page!
Some posts of note are her London Marathon recap from April of this year and her half marathon training plan for next March. She’s also currently blogging from New Zealand (on a long vacation), which is really fun to read. She’s been going to a bunch of the places I visited when I traveled there in 2003 during my study abroad in Australia! New Zealand is such a cool country. So jealous!
