Hello, my friends! I hope you’re all having a lovely Thursday! It’s been a busy one over here – no snow day today so I was up bright and early to teach my 8 a.m. nutrition course over at GW. Now, I’m getting caught up on some AnneTheRD client work before a couple more client meetings this afternoon, and also doing some blog prep because the Continue Reading …

Running D.C.’s Frozen Tundra + A Simple Lunch

IMG_1057

Hello from the polar vortex, aka Washington DC! It’s nice and sunny out today, but MAN is it cold out there and the sidewalks are still a mess of snow, too. I walked over to one of my favorite coffee shops this morning to do some work after being cooped up at home all day yesterday, and my face nearly froze off on the 1/2 mile walk here. Continue Reading …

Dinner & Exercise Friend Dates

Hello, friends! I hope you’re all having a great day so far! I’m using the government holiday as an opportunity to see a bunch of my local AnneTheRD clients that normally need to meet outside of business hours. Perfect! As for the weekend, it was nice and low key – Matt was out of town on a boy’s trip (in San Diego – so jealous), so I Continue Reading …

Good afternoon, my friends! I’m so glad you guys enjoyed my “How to Eat a Better Breakfast” post earlier this week! Here’s another tip: did you know that you can add an egg to oatmeal to make it more filling/protein-packed? I’m not talking about savory-style oats – I simply follow the same recipe as for my Perfect Microwave Banana Continue Reading …

A Freezing Run, Lunch & Teaching!

IMG_5139

Well, my friends, I did it: I braved the extreme cold here in DC yesterday and got in a run. A solo run, even! Apparently wanting a run to be over quickly leads to speed. I’ll have to remember that. ;) Brrrr… no photos, all business for this one. Got it done! As for today, enjoying a rest day. Back to running tomorrow! Continue Reading …

With love for Sardines (and our adorable cat)

IMG_4995

I’ve written about this before, but, I think it’s about time I gross you guys out again. I’m just going to say it: I love sardines. But there’s more to sardines than just grossing out anyone else who is dining with you (though I often eat them for lunch just so I don’t have Matt gagging next to me) – they are also nutritional Continue Reading …

Recent Eats, My First Post-Marathon Run & An Exciting Announcement

IMG_4761

Hello and happy Friday! I’m so glad you guys liked the look of the Lentil & Brown Rice Herbed Salad recipe I posted yesterday! I’ve been enjoying the leftovers for lunch. On Wednesday, I enjoyed it atop some salad, with a side of oranges, sliced soccer-practice style. :) Continue Reading …

Recent Eats & Shake Out Run

IMG_4695

Only 1.5 days now stand between me and my first full marathon in Richmond! Eek! I’m so ready for it to be here already. This morning, I headed out for a 2 mile shake out run. Tomorrow will be a rest day, and then Saturday, it’s go time! It was weird to “just” run 2 miles – and also to run by myself! I can’t even remember the last Continue Reading …
