Matt and I were thankful that Hurricane Sandy passed by our corner of the D.C. with little to no damage, but I know that many in New York and New Jersey in particular have not been so lucky. I made a small monetary donation to the Red Cross earlier this week but wanted to do more to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. I’d been thinking about it all weekend when suddenly a light bulb went off – what about an auction? I have some fabulous brand new fitness gear sitting around that I’ve generously been given via my blog that either doesn’t fit or I have too many of; I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with it because it didn’t seem right to sell something that I originally got for free. This seems to be the perfect solution – an auction for a cause.
I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from this auction (after shipping) to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief. The auction will close on Thursday, November 8th at 6 p.m. EST; all payments from winning bidders will be made via PayPal. U.S. residents only, please. Just a note that none of the companies represented in this auction are sponsors or in any way related to this auction; I’m just using their gear that I happen to have on hand as a way to help the cause.
Let’s raise some money to help those in need! If you have a blog, Twitter, or Facebook page, please help spread the word about this auction to your friends and followers. Thank you in advance for your support!
