Foodie Chef Gift Guide

For Your Favorite Foodie or Chef:

A Garlic Press:

Oxo SteeL Garlic Press, Stainless

I LOVE this garlic press. It used to drive me crazy to chop garlic on my normal cutting board and then have it smell like garlic for weeks. Enter the garlic press — problem solved! Super easy to use, you just peel the garlic, stick it in, and squish! Perfectly chopped garlic comes out the other end :)

~ ~ ~

A Combination Wine Pourer and Stopper:

Metrokane Wine Pourer with Stopper, Black

Super handy to keep wine fresh AND to look fancy when pouring it, too :)

~ ~ ~

An Immersion Blender:

Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender

Immersion blenders are amazing because you don’t have to wait for hot liquids to cool and then transfer them (messily) to a blender to puree them. So great for soup!

~ ~ ~

A Food Processor:

Cuisinart DLC-4CHB Mini-Prep Plus 4-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless Steel

Food processors are SO useful and really easy to use — make your own hummus, dips, sauces, and more, or simply chop veggies and garlic in a flash. You need a food processor to make my awesome 3-ingredient Cinnamon Raisin Almond Balls, too! :)

~ ~ ~

A Kitchen Scale:

EatSmart Precision Pro - Multifunction Digital Kitchen Scale w/ Extra Large LCD and 11 Lb. Capacity

Perfect for finally trying those foreign recipes that require gram measurements instead of cups!

For Your Favorite Coffee Lover:

A Keurig Home Brewing System.

keurig

Matt and I have had our Keurig for over a year now and use it all the time – it’s so awesome. Super simple to use and makes great (and quick) coffee and tea! You can also buy a reusable K-cup so you can use your own loose leaf tea or ground coffee. For friends who already have a Keurig, a K-cup carousel is a fun gift.

~~~
Matt and I also have the Nespresso Pixie Espresso Maker.
nespresso
Not only is the machine really small (perfect for tiny city apartment kitchens – or just when you don’t want a huge machine on the counter), but it makes AMAZING espresso. You use little cups (kind of like K-cups) for each espresso so there’s no messy coffee grinds, either. Highly recommend this machine.
And to go with it, get the Nespresso Aeroccino Plus milk foamer. It’s amazing.
Cookbooks:
I have a few favorites:
Clean Food: A Seasonal Guide to Eating Close to the Source with More Than 200 Recipes for a Healthy and Sustainable You
Clean Food
LOVE this cookbook. Easy, healthy, and delicious recipes, all using whole, unprocessed foods and with a focus on seasonality — right up my alley!
~~~

Eat, Drink & Be Vegan: Everyday Vegan Recipes Worth Celebrating

Eat, Drink & Be Vegan

Amazing and creative recipes you’ll love even if you aren’t vegan! Whenever I’m in a meal rut, this is where I start.

~~~
Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook
Veganomicon
Essentially the vegan bible — again, awesome even if you aren’t vegan (which I’m clearly not!).
~ ~ ~
A fANNEtastic Foodie t-shirt!
Shameless plug.
i_heart_kale
feta_makes_it_betta!
pho_sho
Lots more fun shirts are available — check out my t-shirt shop to see! You can change the colors of the shirts and some are available in men’s, too. Order a size up if you want the shirt to be loose, order your regular size if you want fitted.
~ ~ ~
And last but not least, for your favorite food blogger… a 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens for food photography! Macro lenses allow you to get SUPER close up very sharp shots — perfect for food :)
What’s on your foodie wish list this year?
p.s. This isn’t food-related, but books are always great gifts, too – check out this post I wrote awhile ago for some fun ideas: My Favorite Books.
    I've been looking for a good combination wine stopper/pourer; all my current ones leak when I pour, which absolutely defeats their purpose. Your pick is perfect, since I'm registered on Amazon for my wedding. Added two for good measure :)
    Great list! I myself would totally love an immersion blender. Less dishes = happy me. I have been checking out that exact milk frother for a gift so glad you like it! Quick question, what is the volume it can hold? 8 12 16oz? I have had a heck of a time finding this info on the website so just wondering. Thanks!
    I don't know if you've ever used one before, but pressure cookers are amazing to make things fast!
      I love my pressure cooker. I use at least 3 or 4 times a month. I have used one all my married life. 42 years. Collard greens are terrific and take less time to cook.
    My old roommate had this GREAT wine kit. The best wine opener EVER + wine stoppers and other accessories. It was awesome and some day I plan to buy myself one (if I don't get it for xmas first). ;)
    Great list, Anne. I saw this garlic rocker device the other day and thought it might be even easier to use (and clean) than a garlic press. http://www.surlatable.com/product/PRO-889261/Joseph-Joseph-Rocker-Garlic-Crusher
    An immersion blender is hands down one of my favorite kitchen essential, and it cheaper than most kitchen appliances. Great recommendation! I also stumbled across this cool Artisan Coffee subscription today, which I thought would make an amazing gift for anyone that loves coffee (http://www.craftcoffee.com). And I am totally lusting after that camera lenses.
    These all look like great goodies!! It's shameful, I know, but we don't have a food processor! And I would love one. My fiance didn't even know what a food processor was!
