Night Out with the Girls and a Teaser

Good morning, friends!

Last night’s meal was good enough to break out the flash for. Behold: 002

Mmmm… I went out to dinner with a couple girlfriends at Liberty Tavern, a bar/restaurant in Clarendon, VA. I’ve been there before for drinks, but never for food, and boy was I missing out! They have an awesome menu, and after some debating I ordered the Arctic Char, which was served on top of petit green lentils cooked with carrots and fennel and dressed with an olive and aged white balsamic puree. Arctic char is similar to salmon — oily and hearty. Yum!

Here I am with the girls :)

I love girls night :) We had a great time chatting, drinking wine, and, of course, eating! We may or may not have been the last ones in the upstairs restaurant ;) The servers probably hated us!

I’m off to work! Stay tuned because I have a super fun post for you all later tonight or tomorrow morning:

The Olive Press, located in Sonoma, sent me four different kinds of their award-winning olive oil to try with a challenge:

Create a 4-course meal using one of the olive oils in each course.

Entries are judged on creativity, presentation (both the meal and my post), quality of pictures, and effort put forth, and the winner gets an olive oil gift set! I’m really excited and have come up with a great menu that I’m making for dinner tonight — I can’t wait to share it with you guys :)

Have a good one!

    Hey Anne!!

I am always in Arlington but have yet to go to Liberty Tavern. That fish looks delicious!! Also on the note about the olive oil: My boyfriend’s family has an olive tree farm in Greece. They recently stared importing it into the states and entered it into an International Olive Oil competition in Sonoma as well. It came in SECOND!!! :) I’m curious to see if his is one that gets sent to your home. If not, id LOVE for you to try it. I can promise you you’ll fall in love. It made a believer out of me!

Wow, an olive tree farm in Greece?! That’s amazing!! And so awesome they won second place! If it’s not one of the ones I was sent, I’d absolutely love to try it! -Anne
