fANNEtastic food is hiring!

I’m excited to share that fANNEtastic food is hiring!

Position: Content Specialist

Job Details: I’m looking for someone who will become a part of the fANNEtastic food team and help me to grow the blog, particularly from a traffic perspective. I’m also excited to work closely with another person to generate some fresh content ideas and to be more strategic with what I’m sharing and re-sharing.

The ideal candidate will be a self starter who has a passion for behind-the-scenes, back end blog work and serious attention to detail. I’m looking for someone who understands and enjoys SEO, Google Analytics, Pinterest, low key graphic design (e.g. Canva), and WordPress blogs – experience with photography and videography a plus, as is experience in the culinary or nutrition realms.

Job duties will involve:

  • SEO! I’m looking for someone who has at least a bit of experience working in the SEO realm that can optimize old blog posts for Google search by adding to and updating the posts. I can definitely provide some extra training on SEO for the right candidate, so long as there is a basic understanding here.
  • Low key graphic design – creating graphics for blog posts (using Canva or PicMonkey to create text overlays, etc.)
  • Pinterest management, which will include creation of new pins for existing blog posts, scheduling shares of those pins, spearheading Pinterest strategy, etc.
  • Content strategizing – assistance in brainstorming new blog post ideas
  • Brainstorming + implementing updates to old blog posts that will make them more awesome/useful (e.g. adding freezer prep ahead instructions to slow cooker posts, adding more details to old recipe posts like “how to store this”, etc.)
  • General help with social media (helping with strategy, promoting old posts that are seasonal/timely)
  • Potential assistance with helping film videos or taking photos for social media and/or the blog
  • Continual review/analyzing of Google Analytics to determine what changes to make to the blog posting/promotion strategy

Hours: Starting at 20 hours/week, with potential for increase

Compensation: Negotiable dependent on the qualifications of the applicant. Applicant will be a contractor, not an employee (at least for now).

Start Date: ASAP. A trial period of 3 months will be set to make sure it’s a good fit for both of us.

Location: D.C. area preferred, but not required, so we can meet weekly to work/collaborate in person, but a lot of the work can be done from home.

Looking for a Person Who Is:

  • Dependable
  • Enthusiastic
  • Organized
  • Tech savvy
  • A quick learner and do-er
  • Proactive
  • Excited about helping me grow my blog!

To Apply:

Send your resume and an intro about why you’d be great for this job to me via email at [email protected] with the title “Blog Specialist Application”.

In the email, please also:

  • Include 2 detailed ideas for fresh + unique blog posts that I haven’t yet created that you think would be a great addition to my website (and why you think they would perform well in the future via SEO + Pinterest)
  • Create 2 Pinterest graphics (meaning, images with the text overlay) for any blog post of mine and attach them to the email so I can get an idea of your graphic design style (you may want to check out my usual Pinterest image style first!)
  • Choose 1 blog post of mine and share what you would add/change to optimize it + help it to perform better via Google + Pinterest.
  • Choose 1 blog post of mine and write draft text for a sample Instagram and Facebook post promoting the blog post.
  • Include the contact information of 2 professional references who have worked with you previously.
  • Share what other work commitments you currently have and what your schedule is like/when you’d potentially be available to meet in person to work together.

I’m excited to see your applications – thank you in advance for your interest! Any questions or things you’d like to clarify before applying, please feel free to reach out.

I will be accepting applications until Sunday, February 9, 2020. (Originally I said February 14, but I have received a lot of great applications already, so I’m shortening the search time frame!)
