The Wedding is Tomorrow?!

So, um, our wedding is tomorrow?! How did that happen?!

Love these cute stickers Matt’s mom made for our welcome bags!

Matt’s family arrived yesterday and last night, before a small family dinner, we all got together at my parent’s house for a quick wedding welcome bag assembly line! Guests staying in our designated wedding hotels will receive these bags as a welcome to our wedding weekend when they check in.

In the bags, we have a letter detailing the events of the weekend, shuttle timing, some fun local activities, etc. Isn’t it cute? My bridesmaid Jess designed it for us using one of her Mac programs and it came out awesome. Thank you, Jess!! And thanks for putting up with making a handout with someone who used to be an editor. ;)

Also in the bags are some healthy snacks from a few of my favorite companies! I wanted to make sure the welcome bag snacks reflected my soon-to-be Registered Dietitian status, of course, so I emailed a few of my favorite healthy brands using my blog contacts to ask if they would be willing to send some samples for us to share in the bags. A HUGE thank you to Honest Tea, Attune Foods, and PopChips for sending snacks for our guests to enjoy. You guys rock!

Honest Tea has been a favorite brand of mine for years now. It’s the only bottled tea that I think is worth the money because it doesn’t have fake sweeteners or anything weird, is organic, mostly fair trade tea, and they sweeten very lightly with just a little real sugar or honey to take out the bitterness. It’s the best!

They are also based nearby in Bethesda, MD, so I was able to go pick up the tea myself, say hello to their staff, and get a tour of their office! So cool. They have a MASSIVE vending machine with every type of Honest Tea you can think of and in the area for a price, it just says “FREE.” Can I get that in my apartment, please?! :)

They also have fresh brewed tea on tap in the kitchen. Jealous!

My friends over at Attune Foods also sent some fun treats for our guests – their probiotic chocolate bars! These are delicious – and they have healthy gut-friendly bacteria in them, just like yogurt! Win-win. :) I had them send my two favorite flavors – mint chocolate and dark chocolate.

And last but not least – PopChips! I hung out with the ladies from the DC PopChips office last week at a wellness expo I worked at as part of my dietetic internship and was delighted to discover they have a sweet potato flavor. Perfect for the “fall harvest” theme we’re going for with the wedding this weekend. Yum!

Anyway! Time is ticking now and the fun is just about to begin! This morning, my mom is treating me and my bridesmaids to manicures and pedicures. We’ll grab lunch after, pack up the cars, and then start heading to the venue! We’re having the rehearsal dinner there tonight, too, which is great because everything will be all in one place.

I seriously can’t believe this weekend is finally here. Any advice from you former brides out there for maximizing awesomeness on the big day/weekend? I feel like it’s going to go by way too quickly!

Also, be sure to check back tomorrow – I have a post scheduled to go live at 7 a.m. to commemorate the big day. The weather is looking a little chilly but nice and sunny for this weekend – fingers crossed it stays that way since our ceremony is outside! :)

I’m going to try to pop in briefly on Sunday to share a few sneak preview photos of the weekend (and of course my dress!) before Matt and I head off on our mini-honeymoon! Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram (username: fANNEtasticfood) for updates throughout the weekend as well. :)

Happy Friday, everyone!

How awesome is your wedding swag!?! :D

  2. 2

Just enjoy the day and if anything goes wrong, just try to take it in stride. Congratulations!

  3. 3

Your wonder woman posting the day before your wedding!!! Good luck again, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing day!

  4. 4

Ah, so exciting, Anne! Love the gift bags–I’m sure your guests will love them. :) And have an amazing day!

  5. 5

So excited for you! My advice would be to soak up every second you can. Stay present and really enjoy and celebrate the reason all of the events are happening this weekend – for you and Matt! It will be the best day ever!!

  6. 6

I hope you have an amazing day!!!

  7. 7

    Have fun tomorrow!!

  8. 8

Have an absolutely amazing wedding! My hubby and I just celebrated our one-year anniversary a few days ago. My biggest piece of advice? Make sure you and Matt slip away from the reception a couple times to enjoy a private moment soaking it all in together. Take a second alone to hold hands, look into each other’s eyes and say, “This is our wedding. Right here, right now.”

Second piece of advice: The things that go wrong actually make the best memories! The small flubs of our wedding are the things we look back on and laugh about now.

  9. 9

AGH! I am so excited for you. It feels like just yesterday we were having lunch in DC, both just preparing for our weddings this year. Advice? Hmm…none really. Just have the BEST time ever!

  10. 10

BEAUTIFUL weather outlook! Enjoy every second!

  11. 11

    Sooo excited for you! Congrats!

  12. 12

You are awesome! :) And Matt is a rockstar–I’m so happy for you guys! HAVE FUN!!!

  13. 13

Congratulations, Anne! My advice? Stay in the moment and be relaxed. All your hard work and planning has led up to this, so just ENJOY it. You only get one wedding day! Don’t stress about the little details — focus on your new marriage, your new husband, and the joy of your new life. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow!

  14. 14

Yay! Good luck and remember to not sweat the small stuff! If something goes wrong/isn’t perfect, just roll with it!

  15. 15

    it says 6pm-12pm not 6pm-12AM!!!!!!!!!

  16. 18

I got married last month and my advice would be to take several mental snapshots throughout the day! The day will fly by and you’ll feel like you don’t remember a thing, so be aware and remember the important moments!

  17. 19

Congratulations again, and enjoy the day!

  18. 20

Truly try not to sweat the small things that may go wrong. No one else notices! Let your family and friends step in and you guys just focus on enjoying each other and trying to soak up the memories because when they say it goes by too fast — they aren’t kidding! ;-) The “mental snapshots” recommendation is a very good one. Try to do this! Congrats and wishing you a life time of happiness.

  19. 21

Love the bags! What a nice treat for your guests. I definitely want to try the sweet potato pop chips. I know your ceremony will be beautiful. Have fun!

  20. 22

Have an INCREDIBLE weekend Anne! I’m so happy for you and Matt! Can’t wait to see pictures.

  21. 23

    Congrats! Enjoy the weekend!

  22. 24

Congratulations to you and Matt! I hope it is a truly wonderful weekend. Are you planning to see each other before the ceremony? That really helped me and my husband connect, get on the same page, and stay calm during the excitement of the day. Your wedding is a celebration, not a performance, and as long as you end the day married to your love it is a success. Have FUN! I wish you all the best for a wonderful day and a very happy marriage!

  23. 25

Good luck and congrats!!!! Have an amazing wedding weekend!!! Break a leg! (do people say that for weddings? I’m not sure what the right “best wishes” term is!)

  24. 26

Congrats on the BIG DAY! My advice to you, is to make sure you truly enjoy it. If anything goes awry, dont stress, just roll with it. Remember this day is about you and your fiance and you are correct it will fly by, so just take a few minutes just to two of you to remember it is for you.

  25. 27

Just have fun and relax! The hardest part (the planning) is behind you now. Trust all your vendors and you’ll have a great weekend.

  26. 28

Best piece of wedding advice: enjoy the little moments. enjoy the fact that so many people you love are all in one place together and they are there to celebrate your marriage (!!). enjoy any foibles that unexpectedly happen on the day of the wedding- they make a story all the more rich in the telling later. Congrats!

  27. 29

Have a great day! Very exciting, make sure you enjoy it yourself.

  28. 30

Happy Wedding Day! Enjoy every minute!!

  29. 31

Anne- happy wedding! You’re going to be beautiful and have so much fun. Make sure to take time for you and Matt to eat :) Love the goodie bags too.

  30. 32

Congratulations Anne! I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now and loving it. Just wanted to send my best wishes for you tomorrow- enjoy the day!

  31. 33

Congrats Anne, You are going to be such a beautiful bride. I have loved following your wedding journey … the one thing that I was told (and remember!) on my wedding day was to make sure that I didn’t spend too much of the evening away from my new husband. You are both going to be so busy greeting guests that its easy to get separated, but its YOUR day and you should spend it together. It was pretty hard but I think that our guests appreciated seeing the two of us as a pair. :) Have a BLAST!

  32. 34

How incredibly cheap of you to contact those companies, I can’t believe some of them sent them to you! Not reading this blog again!

    • 35

I’m sorry to hear that! The way the companies and I saw it, it was a win-win – they get exposure and our guests get some fun snacks.

My goodness, poor Kris must have had a really bad day. Get over yourself honey. This is Anne’s day and she has done a heck of a great job. Go take an aspirin Kris and everything will be alright again. GOD Bless you dear.

I have to say that I had a similar reaction. Anne, I love your blog and generally find you to be so smart ad classy, but this is tacky. Why couldn’t you buy these products and share them with your guests? I understand wanting to incorporate your new career into the wedding, but did it need to be sponsored? A wedding is about love and family, not product placement and endorsements. I hope you think about this and in the future make better decisons regarding your life and sponsorships.

    Stephanie says:

I’m so excited for you!! I hope everything works out the way you want it to for the big day.:-) Just remember to RELAX! Savor each moment, and enjoy yourself.

  34. 39

You have done a fantastic job Anne. Everything will go just fine tomorrow. Do not worry, that is your MOH job. Enjoy the once in a lifetime event and savor every moment. This will probably be harder on your parents so be patient. Just going by experience. I feel so bad for poor Kris bless her heart, I’m sure she didn’t mean it. I hope not. GOD Bless you and Matt and have a wonderful day. I have been every impressed that you, not one time, ever became BRIDEZILLA.Ha

  35. 40

Don’t forget to take a break during the reception and look around. It all goes by so fast but it’s great to see people who you care about and who care about you having a great time at YOUR event.

  36. 41

When you are walking down the aisle, don’t look at anyone but Matt. You will never forget the look on his face as he watches you walk down the aisle.

  37. 42

I arrived in my room and saw the fun bag! Thank you! How thoughtful -and cool!

Tonight was the BEST rehearsal party/meet&greet ever!
It was like a wedding within itself!

What a fun night (and great wines)
Thank you for being part of another unforgettable memory together…..Looking forward to tomorrow -Miss P! :-)

  38. 43

Congratulations to you both, I know you’ll have a lovely day. xo

  39. 44

AWESOME idea for bags! Love all of the goodies and the way you stuck with your fall theme!
