Good evening, my friends! I’m popping in quickly to share a fun giveaway courtesy of my friends at Reebok.

IMG_4443

You guys know that as part of my ongoing partnership with Reebok, I received a pair of the Reebok CrossFit Nano 3.0s (on the left in the photo above) to try out a few months ago. I’ve been wearing them to all my CrossFit workouts since and have been really enjoying them. They’re lightweight and low to the ground making them great for strength workouts, and have nice grip and traction, too.

IMG_0007

A couple weeks ago, Reebok sent me a new pair of Nanos to try out – the Reebok CrossFit Nano Speed!

IMG_4440

Aren’t they cute? I love the neon.

These shoes were built to perform for CrossFit workouts and cross-training activities of any kind, in particular those that involve both lifting and sprints or short runs. They are basically a more running-friendly version of the Nano 2.0 and 3.0. They have a more narrow toe, making them easier to run in, but they still have a flat platform (4 mm drop) to provide stability for lifting.

IMG_4439

I am a big fan of the shoes – they are still sturdy and supportive, but a lot more flexible than the Nano 3.0s. Great traction, too! I tried them out for a boot camp-esque workout and they felt great – although just a heads up that they run large, so order a half size down if you pick up a pair. I think I’ll stick with the Nano 3.0s for fully strength-based workouts and work the Nano Speeds in when more running is involved with the WODs. I wouldn’t wear them for long runs, but for boot camp or CrossFit workouts that incorporate a little running, these were the perfect comfy mix of sturdy and flexible!

And now it’s your turn to check these shoes out! Two lucky fANNEtastic readers will win their choice of either the Reebok CrossFit Nano 3.0 or the Reebok CrossFit Nano Speed. The color is up to you, too – both shoes are made in all sorts of fun colors. My male readers are welcome to enter as well – both shoes also come in men’s versions!

To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post sharing the most butt-kicking workout that you got in in the past week. Feel free to brag! 🙂

Want additional optional entries? Follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, and “like” me on Facebook. Then leave one extra overall comment saying you did so!

For another optional entry, tweet the following and then come back and let me know you tweeted it: “ I want to win @Reebok CrossFit shoes from @fANNEtasticfood !  http://tinyurl.com/ncmfnh8 “

This giveaway is now closed and the winners have been notified. Thank you to everyone who entered – your comments were amazingly inspirational! 🙂

I worked out with my friend the other day (who also happens to be a personal trainer) on leg day and almost a week later I am still feeling the residual effects. Here was our workout: 4x15 leg press (140, 2x180, 230lbs) 3x12 (each leg) single leg squat (15lbs) 3x12 hamstring curls (45lbs) 2x15 regular box jumps 2x10 side box jumps walking lunges down 70ft hallway and back w/ 20 lb barbell walking wide lunges down hallway and back, same weight walking lunges down hallway and back (had to lose the weight ha) I love leg day! If I am not sore the next day, I don't feel like I've done enough. Believe me, this was plenty!

My best workout was last Friday. It was my second CrossFit workout ever and I think I'm still sore from the workout. I do BootCamp and StrikeFit (heavy weight bag) and decided to get past the fear and intimidation that was CrossFit. It was challenging, but I can't wait to take the third class and continue to get stronger. I am even practicing headstands\handstands on my own! A pair of "official" CrossFit shoes would definitely compliment my new workouts! Thanks.

Those look like a great cross training shoe and love the bright colors too! Every week my butt-kicking workout is running the Harvard Stadium steps. If you haven't been to this stadium, it's a collesium and each step is about the size of three so it's basically a lunge after lunge. I've been doing it almost every week for nine months and it still humbles me! I get the same high from the stadium that I do from long marathon training runs except it only half hour :)

This summer I started doing Soldierfit in Montgomery County and it's awesome! One of the best workouts this week were pyramid stations with various strength exercises...curl & squat, plank and pike jumps, etc. The reason I love Soldierfit is because it does have a great amount of cardio (we did indian runs one day...such a flashback to middle school soccer!) So the Nano Speed would be a great shoe for me.

Hardest workout this week was bootcamp on the stairs! Trainer had us quick step up and down 10 times for a warm-up and then go up and down doing acceclerated number of squats, pushups, curls, and rows on each level. My quads were sore for days afterwards :)

Couch to 5k is kicking my butt. I'm coming back from an injury, so I'm using the intervals to build up strength in my knee, but also as speedwork. Though last week's butt-kicking workout was my Sunday morning swim. Went to Walden Pond with a friend and even though it was 45 degrees out and so foggy we couldn't see across the pond and the water was only about 60 degrees, we squeezed ourselves into our wetsuits and swam about half a mile. SO COLD! :)

The most butt-kicking workout lately was pool sprint ladders. I think that is what my swim coach calls them. For just barely learning how to swim in the last six months, these just about killed me. But I completed them and I felt invincible. Finding time to workout is hard for me. I work full time, and have a toddler at home, and a husband that travels 4-5 days out of the week. By the time I get home, spend time with the little one, feed her, put her to bed, clean up, prep for the next day, I'm EXHAUSTED and crash. So I decided to start going to the gym during my lunch break. Depending on how many red lights I hit on my way there, I can squeeze in a 20-30 min workout so I have to make the time count when I get there! Yesterday, I ran 20 minutes on the treadmill... in intervals of 2min incline steady pace, and 2min flat speed surge. For a mama that is trying to find her way back to her pre-baby body... I was VERY proud!

The most butt kicking workout I've done recently would have to be P90X plyometrics. I mean almost an hour of plyo is killer!

I ran a 10-mile race on Sunday in 1:17:30, the fastest 10 miles I've run in my life, and I'm STILL feeling the high from such an amazing experience!!

I did "Barbara" at crossfit: 5 RFT of 20 pull ups; 30 push ups; 40 sit ups; 50 air squats. I could only manage 3 rounds in the time I had... and was sore for 4 days!

My most butt kicking workout this past week was a 4 mile run on the beach and than walking up 18 flights of stairs! It was tough especially since I haven't had much time for running! I'm trying to find time to train for a 10k!!! But I wish I could do more! I'm absolutely in love with the neon colors though!

Have taken some time off of long runs since last year's Rock n Roll USA, but training for my first full marathon this March. My first return to long run was a pretty solid butt-kicking - 9 mi on Sunday, but perfect day for running on the Mt. Vernon Trail and Roosevelt Island!

The toughest workout I did this week was actually a CrossFit workout. Last night we did 3 rounds (6mins each) of 500m Row, followed by AMRAP of 15 double unders, 15 box jumps and 15 KB Swings. By round 3 I was dripping! Tough workout, but awesome! I'd love to try the Reebok Crossfit shoe line!
