As you guys know, I’m here for Fitbloggin’ — a fun conference for fitness and health bloggers 🙂

The conference started off with a bang this morning with a 5k run! It has clouded over now, but this morning the weather was perfect for running — sunny and mid 50’s.

014

One of my roommates for the weekend, Nicole, and I ran together and stuck right in the front of the pack with the run leader from New Balance, who is one of the main Fitbloggin’ sponsors.

021 Will run for bacon!

It was a SPEEDY run! We did 3.12 miles in 24:57, for an average pace of exactly 8:00 min/miles, although I think my watch was a little off and we were actually faster than that — we went through a couple tunnels and there were lots of buildings so my Garmin was being weird! Either way, we were MOVING!

Splits:

  • Mile 1: 8:06
  • Mile 2: 7:59
  • Mile 3: 7:47

Regardless of whether we were actually faster than my watch said, it was a great run! I felt pretty tired at some points but really wanted to stick with the front of the pack so I made it happen — yay! A little determination (and competitive spirit) will take you a long way sometimes.

When we arrived back at the hotel we had some time to mingle — on the far right in the photo below is the CEO of Attune Foods! He’s an AWESOME runner — I was impressed. He was right up with the leader the whole time, making it look easy. 🙂

015

Speaking of Attune Foods, I got to see Annelies, too! She’s their social media expert and the contact person for all of us bloggers. It was fun to see her in person again!

019

Attune is one of the sponsors of this weekend’s conference and provided a breakfast and Q&A nutrition session following the run. Deeeeelish!

008

007

They had a great assortment of healthy cereals and some beautiful fresh berries. Mmmm.

004 006

Time to get back to the sessions — next up is a fitness challenge session led by Cathe Friedrich — should be a good time!

Catch you guys later with more updates!

You surely were moving. Baltimore looks pretty. The cobblestone by the river reminds me of Savannah. Enjoy yourself.
