Hey friends! Popping in for a quick hello on this hot and sunny Friday! We are still at the beach – here until Sunday morning – and soaking up the last of our family vacation! 🙂

Matt and I headed out on a super hot and sweaty run this morning – we did a variation of my friend Julie’s Outdoor Running Circuit Workout and stopped about every mile (in the shade!) for mini boot camps. 🙂 I love doing that when it’s really hot out – nice way to break up the run, and to add some additional strength training too!

We made it almost 4.6 miles before stopping at Treehouse Coffee in Duck, grabbing iced lattes (and water), and walking the rest of the way back (about half a mile). Perfect way to cool down!

Most of my fitness this week has been playing in the ocean, jumping over waves, and having some serious pool volleyball throw downs, but I also hit up two yoga classes. The first was a free outdoor class on Tuesday morning – they have them every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. in summer in the main green outdoor square in Duck.

It was a nice, calming flow and my mother in law treated me and my two sisters in law to breakfast afterward at Treehouse Coffee. Yummy mushroom omelette!

The other yoga adventure was a class at Duck Village Yoga, a really cute spot I’ve been to on previous trips. My sister in law Morgana and brother in law Drew joined me. We hit up a fun, powerful vinyasa flow class taught by a woman named Katie that we all loved – great instructor.

Because we’re all obsessed with Treehouse Coffee (it’s super convenient/on the way back to our house), we grabbed breakfast and lattes there again after yoga – this time I got their egg, bacon, and tomato biscuit sandwich! Yummmmm!

As for other eats this week, I’ve been enjoying some of the leftover Salmon with Watermelon Salsa – it made a great packed beach lunch with some arugula and avocado added to the mix – and some blueberries!

I’ll be back on Monday to recap the rest of our beach trip fun and eats – until then, have a fabulous weekend my friends!
