Miss the earlier honeymoon recaps? Check those out first. :)

  • Our Honeymoon Overview
  • El Silencio Lodge: Hiking Adventures
  • El Silencio Lodge “Cultural Tour”
  • Waterfall Rappelling!
  • White Water Rafting
  • Hanging Bridges, Volcano Hikes, Waterfalls & Hot Springs!
  • JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa

Welcome to the second to last honeymoon recap! This one’s adventure? Ziplining!

On one of the days while we were staying at the JW Marriott Guanacaste, we set up an early morning ziplining excursion. Because apparently you can’t go to Costa Rica without going ziplining!

We went through a company called Ecotrans on the Congo Trail Canopy Tour. Their ziplining set up featured 11 different ziplines! First, we started basic…

But soon they let us go upside down!

That’s me upside down in front of the guy in the picture below. Awkward/slightly inappropriate position, yes, but so cool.

We climbed up some pretty bridges in between the different zipline stations, too.

At one point we even saw these howler monkeys!

And then this happened:

Meet Scrappy, the ziplining wonder dog.

Apparently Scrappy is now 12 years old and has been ziplining since she was a puppy. She wasn’t scared at all and was super calm and still while on the zipline. So crazy – she was a total pro!

File this under “things you would never see in the U.S.”… 🙂

Fun times had by all!

I’ll be back this afternoon to share the final honeymoon highlight – scuba diving!

Have you ever been ziplining? Remember last time Matt and I went? It was on Halloween, above a haunted forest, and we were in costume! 🙂

We went zip lining at the same place when we stayed in Guanacaste for our honeymoon! It was awesome...especially when we went upside down! The day we went, no one else had registered except for us, so the guides let us go on extra lines. They asked us what Spanish we knew and sadly we answered with "cerveza". They called us their "drunk American amigos" the rest of the excursion! lol

I went ziplining on a family vacation in Costa Rica back in 2005, such fun!! Don't think it was the same place, but same thoughts around.."wow we could not do this in the U.S."! Thanks for sharing, looks like you had a blast!

I loved zip lining - well I did the one time I went when I was in Whistler - during the summer thankfully as otherwise going over the glaciers might have been a bit chilly!

Hey, this is an awesome adventure to go on a honeymoon. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Scrappy the dog was the highlight i must say. No one would really see that anywhere else in the US. Haha. You should try ziplining in Hawaii too if you're an enthusiast.
