I’m a Marathoner!

I can hardly believe it, but: I’m officially a marathoner! My first marathon was soggy, wet, and of course challenging, but overall, it was completely awesome.

I spent most of yesterday weirdly wanting to do it all over again… well, maybe just wanting to cross that finish line again, you know, without that whole running 26.2 miles again beforehand. I’m insanely sore now, but overall feeling good and happy to report that all my toenails even survived to tell the tale! (Weird things runners say…)

I’m working on writing up a race recap that does the experience justice, so stay tuned. Until then, if you haven’t already, checked out my Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages to see some of the play by play updates. Spoiler alert: I hit my goal of breaking 4 hours! 🙂

THANK YOU again so, so much for all your support this weekend. You are my inspiration!

Congrats! A marathon is such an incredible accomplishment, let alone breaking 4 hours! I also got some funny looks from people when I said that I had all my toenails so I considered the MCM a success. I look forward to hearing your recap!

Congrats! And what a great finishing time. I forgot to tell you a few weeks ago you should have scheduled a massage for Monday morning. I did that after my first marathon and I had almost totally recovered by noon the next day. I did a deep sports massage that helped out those sore muscles.

Well done!! I still can't believe your after photos - you don't even look tired or red lol! I was wondering if you could also write a post on changes you noticed in your body whilst training (weight loss/gain, size change/ appetite etc) ?

Congrats Anne - what an awesome accomplishment! Have you tried going down stairs backwards? Looks funky, but is so much easier on those crazy sore legs. Enjoy the massage and the post-race runner's high, you earned it! Can't wait to read more!
