A Crisp Trail Run

Good morning, friends! How is it already Tuesday?! Yesterday was one of those days that totally got away from me – sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day, are there?

You know what’s crazy? It’s July but it feels like October. It’s crisp, cool, and breezy in DC today – what a treat!

My friend Ashley and I celebrated with a morning run date. My 6:30 a.m. alarm came way too quickly, but even though I felt sluggish out there today the fresh cool air was amazing.

A lot of others had the same idea, as you can see! We ended up covering 4.5 miles at around a 9 minute mile or so pace. Thanks for the great company, Ashley! 🙂

On the food front, I treated myself to a quick dinner at Sweetgreen last night after a great evening class at Edge Yoga with my friend Karen. I needed to hit the grocery store and doing that while starving is always an epic fail that results in a super random assortment of impulse purchases, so I decided to avoid that whole situation. 😉 I had a big explosion of a salad with shrimp, feta, chickpeas, and all sorts of veggies. So good, as always!

And now, back to work with my furry assistant. 🙂

Have a wonderful day, my friends – and stay tuned for a fun new recipe post tomorrow! 🙂

Who else got in a run in the beautiful cooler temps this morning?

That greenery is gorgeous! It's uncharacteristically sunny in SF right now, so I am enjoying all the sunshine as much as possible and it def. made my HIIT workout this morning tough! ...And I agree, going to the grocery store hungry makes for an expensive trip! :)

It's anything but cool here. But I'm not complaining, I'll take the sunshine while we can get it. Your run looked really beautiful.

same weather here in Pittsburgh - ran around 11:00 am yesterday and today. I never go that late at the end of July. The cool weather makes such a big difference in my running pace, too!

It's also cool and rainy here in Utah--but this morning was hot! I ended up geting a late start so I grabbed my horse and went on a short run with her--she's not the best running partner haha. We ended early. I'm trying to get her fit though hah.

it's perfect weather here in NYC today too which makes me happy because I just returned from 5 days in San Francisco where the weather was phenomenal. =) shrimp, feta and chickpeas one of my favorite combos for a salad. Add cucumber, tomato, greens and some lemon vinagrette....perfect.

I often go to swim, early in the morning, but this morning, I made a run in the cloudburst to get to my car: result? completely sodden in a few seconds! Never seen a so rainy July around here, in the north west of my Conuntry. Your cat is very nice and looks like the one of my parents, with the only difference that Billo (it's his name) weighs around 7 kilos Betty

I have been loving the weather the past couple days! This morning was fantastic. I went out at 7 and it was perfect for running. I love that the humidity seems to be gone too (for the moment)!

I've been in DC for work this week, and I actually wished I had a sweater this morning. So surprising, since a few weeks ago, I felt like I was swimming to work. I had Sweetgreen for lunch today -- the Chick P. SO good!
