Biking & Outdoor Movies

Hello and happy Sunday!

I have had SUCH a fun weekend so far. Let’s rewind a bit — starting with Friday! The weather was gorgeous and my friend Lauren and I decided a late afternoon bike ride was in order to celebrate the end of another busy week. Perfect example of one of my favorite kinds of workouts — fresh air AND a fun friend date. 🙂

I threw my bike in the car and met Lauren out at Maple View Farm, the cutest ice cream place ever.

I love doing bike rides starting at Maple View because the country roads are great for biking AND at the end of the bike ride you get ice cream! As far as I’m concerned, all bike rides should end with ice cream. 😉

I <3 fall — isn’t their pumpkin display cute?

We did a nice big loop around the country roads near Maple View Farm.

Most gorgeous weather ever. Perfect way to end a week. 🙂

According to Lauren’s cool mileage gauge thingy (that’s a technical term) on her bike, we covered 18 miles. Yay!

And then — it was ice cream time. 🙂

IMG_0039

They had a seasonal pumpkin pie ice cream! It was to die for.

Hanging out on their porch with ice cream on a beautiful day is my most favorite thing ever.

While Lauren and I were eating our ice cream, a group of high schoolers near us were talking about how the outdoor movie theater in Chapel Hill was showing the final Harry Potter movie that night! Matt and I didn’t have any plans for the evening, so the second I got home I told him about it — he was clearly on board. 🙂

We packed a picnic dinner and some blankets and headed over to the outdoor movie theater area early to get a good seat.

We had turkey and cheese on crackers…

And also some peanut butter to have with the celery. I LOVE celery with peanut butter. Such an unexpectedly delicious combination.

Don’t worry, we also bought some popcorn. Mmmm movie theater popcorn is the best.

The movie was just as awesome as the first time I saw it. I <3 Harry Potter. And what is it about watching a movie outside that makes it so much more fun?

Matt and I are off to enjoy another beautiful day today — we’re thinking possibly some hiking? I’ll be back later with a recap of yesterday — it involved two of my favorite things: running and wine. 🙂

Have a good one!

In my day, we had drive-in movies but a girl had a tough time watching the movie because she was too busy fighting off her octopus date. TeeHee And the windows fogged up as well. HeeHee We went to the air show in Peachtree City, Ga. yesterday and it was marvelous. It was so wonderful, I cried. One of the big military planes was on you before you knew it, it was silent until it passed you and the stands shook.

Pumpkin Ice Cream, I will have to make my own if I want to try it, people don't make the most of pumpkins here! Outdoor movies would be so much better if you could bring your mattress and duvet with you!
