Hello and happy Friday!

I’ve been having a blast here in Chapel Hill this week hitting a bunch of my old favorite spots and reconnecting with friends. Besides getting my MPH and all, here are some of the highlights so far. 🙂

—

#1 – Franklin Street Yoga, of course!

You guys knew I’d hit this place up again immediately. I miss it so!

After my presentation on Wednesday, I headed over for my favorite “Rock Your Asana” power yoga class with my girls Elle, Lauren, Libby, and Lindsey. Here I am with Elle (before changing into our yoga clothes!):

With Elle and Libby – ready to sweat!

It was a great class, as always. We did a really cool move at one point that involved an “airplane” pose (hands out to the side and one leg back in the air), but with our arms around our neighbors! It was fun AND helped stabilize us for the move. During this we were all giggling and someone said “Grab her camera!” since mine was right in view by my mat. So Lori, the instructor, did! Cool picture, huh?

#2 – Reuniting with the UNC pool!

I hit up the UNC pool early on Wednesday morning with my friend Lauren for a nice 45 minute swim. It felt GREAT to be back in the water again – I really miss swimming! I need to find a pool near me in DC, I think…

We were greeted with this beautiful view when we arrived on campus to swim. This clock tower always looks so European to me!

#3 – Dinner & Drinks with Friends!

I hit up Glass Half Full in Carrboro for dinner and drinks last night with friends to celebrate. Love this place!

Below I’m with my friends Steph, Khalil, and Lauren. A couple of my high school friends that live in the area came to join us a little later for drinks, too. Good times!

And my dinner! Scallops with a butternut squash puree. Amaaazing.

#4 – A Run!

This morning, the girls and I ran one of our favorite old routes all around Chapel Hill, on a beautiful trail, and through campus.

We covered 4.5 miles and finished our run out with brunch at Foster’s Market. YUM.

Other highlights I didn’t get photos of are dinner with my friend Lindsey on Tuesday night (Lindsey and her husband Tim were awesome enough to let me crash at their place all week!), dinner with Elle on Wednesday night after yoga, and watching all my classmates present their papers, too! It’s been a fun week.

Time to gear up for more graduation festivities! Matt is coming down today and we’re sticking around for the weekend for one last hurrah here in our old town.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi Anne! I found your blog about a year ago and have been following ever since because I could relate to so many of your posts! (I just got my masters in Nutrition at Columbia University, I'm about to start my dietetic internship at NYPresbyterian, and my husband and I were married on September 1st of this year.) Your blog actually inspired me to start my own blog (www.emilyeatsandruns.com) :) Thanks for the inspiration, and congratulations on getting your MPH!

If you miss the pool, your closest pool is probably W&L - http://www.apsva.us/Page/18624 - I go there from time to time.
