Hidden Veggie Cherry Lemon Smoothie Recipe

I have a new obsession.


It’s been so hot here that pretty much all I want to eat are smoothies. I may have had one for dinner last night. Don’t judge. (Some pita chips and hummus made the cut, too. I’m so classy.)


My new favorite smoothie? A hidden veggie Cherry Lemon Smoothie. You’ve got your protein (milk and yogurt), veggies (spinach — can’t taste it!), and fruity antioxidants (cherries + lemon). Total win.


The key ingredient? This new lemon Chobani. I am OBSESSED. Best yogurt ever. And I don’t say that lightly.


Hidden Veggie Cherry Lemon Smoothie 

Ingredients (for 1 smoothie):

1 6oz. container Chobani nonfat lemon Greek yogurt

6 frozen cherries

1 very large handful baby spinach

3/4 cup nonfat or lowfat milk

4 ice cubes


1) Toss everything in a blender and whirl away!


2) Dive in headfirst. Try not to swoon because it’s so delicious.

    what a cool combo! cherry and lemon?! never tried it before. Cherry and chocolate is one a the best combos in mah book!…wait…anything and chocolate seems to go together haha :)

        haha I wanted to ask the same question. We don’t have those “covered” cups here in poor italy land ;) but I fell in love with them (as well as with “covered” coffee mugs) while I was in the USA… I bought some coffee mugs but wanted to order one like yours on line :)

        I love smoothies too, with spinach cinnamon and pineapple, or cherry greek yogurt and spinach :) yum!

    My go to smoothie is spinach, a frozen banana, blueberries, almond milk and protein but these days I am loving a strawberries with a frozen banana, almond milk and protein. Especially in bowl form!

    I love using Chobani in my smoothies too! My go-to for breakfast is frozen strawberries + bananas (I cut them all up and freeze them in bags), yogurt, splash of milk, and a handful of baby spinach.

    I’ve been drinking smoothies like it’s my job these days too! They are just so refreshing in this heat. Love adding some Cho into mine too. Definitely takes them to a whole new level.

    yum! you know, i always tell ppl i’m not a fan of lemon, yet i love this chobani! and i’ve loved lemon squares, and vitamin water zero (squeezed aka lemonade).

    I love putting spinach in smoothies! I need to try cherries though for sure!

    I LOVE as much spinach as I can pack in the blender, 2 T ground flaxseed, banana and 1 C rice milk……….yummmm

    Yum! I love lemon chobani too! :) It is definitely my favorite of the flavored yogurts! My favorite smoothie has frozen banana, cocoa bean extract, protein powder, almond milk, spinach, and ice!

    My favourite go-to fruit smoothie is frozen banana, frozen raspberries, Greek yogurt, liquorice powder (dried, pulverized liquorice root), vanilla and a bit of hemp seed oil.
    Of course the banana/strawberry is a classic though :-) Or spinach/frozen banana/PB. Oh there are a million great recipes!

    I try to add good fats to all of my meals including smoothies, in the form of oils – helps my skin remain fresh and soft. And controls my appetite…

    Lemon chobani is also really good with some blueberries mixed in. The flavors complement each other so well and it is super refreshing. I also like to put mine in the freezer for a little while so it’s a little frozen.

    Wow this smoothie sounds great! I was making all veggie smoothies for a while a couple of months ago and got burned out on them. Lately I’ve been using mixed frozen fruit, apple juice, cherry concentrate, chocolate amazing meal, and wheat grass. I found your blog by searching for lemon smoothies because i needed a change (and love lemon!). Not only does yours sound great, all the smoothies in the comments sound good too! :-)
