Hello and happy Labor Day! I hope all of you in the U.S. are enjoying a day off from labor today 🙂

004

Matt and I have been enjoying our long weekend here in Chapel Hill. So far, highlights included biking:

001 003

Look — we came across some belted cows!!

005 008

“What you lookin’ at?!”

We also had a nice 4 mile trail run yesterday over at Duke Forest!

010

Neither of us had been there before so it was nice to explore a new trail 🙂

009

Other highlights included:

  • Finally seeing “The Help” last night with some of the girls (Loved it! Very similar to the book, which I also loved) — Matt went and saw “Idiot Brother” instead with our friend Tim, heh. Our movie theater serves beer (and wine) — best thing ever.
  • Having a “Sunday Funday” yesterday at our friend’s pool — an epic game of water volleyball ensued (the water was 5 feet deep, which made the game more hilarious).
  • Discovering a delicious new (to us) BBQ place on Saturday evening — The Pig. SO good. Our new favorite in the area!

We were supposed to go back to the Wet ‘n Wild water park in Greensboro today with some friends to use our rain check passes, but it’s rainy and thunderstormy 🙁 Sadface! Instead, we’re going to be productive and run some errands. I also have a study date later tonight with some classmates — we have another biochem quiz and assignment due this week, boo!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a delicious new recipe — stay tuned!

Those belted cows are so cute! Makes me want an oreo... yum. I'm relatively new to your blog and really loving it! Also, where did you get that cute running top?

Thanks, Megan! :) The running shirt is Nike and from Sports Authority I think? Or maybe Dick's - one of those places!

They look like Oreo cookie cows! I used to believe the whole "chocolate milk comes from brown cows" thing when I was very young, but I think it might be a little difficult to troll a kid into thinking that Oreo cookies come from these cows! Cookies are not, after all, milk! :)

Lol, that would be awesome if oreos came from those cows! :)

Happy Labor day to you and Matt also. I think the 3 standing in the water are bulls. TeeHee I see at least one bull in the field too. It's been raining in the Atlanta area all day boo. Have fun.

We call those cows "Oreo Cows". So glad you posted the photos as it brought back a wonderful memory when my boys were growing up. Sunny

Crazy looking cows!! I must see The Help this week, I have been dying to since I finished the book. I am glad to hear you liked both...I always get nervous when the book is so good that the movie will be disappointing.

I heart your shoes! But oh man, I am so clueless when it comes to walking in heels ... pretty sure I stick my butt out every time I try! But I love, love, love the thought and look of heels :D

I love the Pig! My boyfriend actually took me there on our first date and clearly it worked its magic on me because we're still together (me and the boy- although I'm also still VERY MUCH bonded with the restaurant).
