I have some very big news to share with you guys today…

IMG_1333

My brother said that picture looked more like a baked potato than a bun (get it? a bun in the oven?!) so, just to make sure this is clear…

I’m pregnant!

Matt and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first non-fur child in late November. 🙂

I’ll share more details on how I’ve been feeling, etc., tomorrow (any specific questions, let me know!), but for now, I just want to thank you guys so much for reading – we can’t wait to share this next chapter with you!

-Joining a PACE group (http://www.pacemoms.org/) was one of the best decisions I made! I talk to the moms from my group every day and they've been such an amazing support network. -The local library is great for baby storytimes, I took mine at around 6 weeks and it was a nice way to meet some other local mamas. Not sure how much my little one got out of it but I figure early exposure to books can't be bad ;) -Having winter babies in this area can be a bit hard given the weather, but the Air & Space Museum in Dulles is great for taking tiny babies that end up sleeping most of the time :) Happy to send you more stuff as she gets a bit older :) Again congrats!!!

Congratulations! What an exciting time. I'm impressed with all the workouts. With both my pregnancies I was exhausted and constantly nauseas that I couldn't work out much in the first trimester. Plus after the first trimester I got round ligament pain with both and the support band didn't help so I could only walk. It's only temporary.

Congrats!!! I was anticipating this announcement (the alcohol! the running!), but then the puppy thing threw me for a loop. ;) My questions are how were you able to continue to eat with such variety? And how tough was it fielding hinting comments on the internet? (Also, I know pregnant women get inundated with unasked for suggestions, so feel free to ignore -- but if you do want any rec's, the podcast The Longest Shortest Time is a good listen with a number of pregnancy and birth-related episodes, and The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth is a clear, evidence-based read, although the evidence is now a bit older!)

Congratulations! I'm due on June 1st (which is coming up way faster than I think I'm ready for!). We've been married for almost 8 years, so people were starting to lose patience with us by the time we finally announced my pregnancy. :) Once I was feeling better, I was able to resume a lot of my normal workouts until about 28 weeks. Since then I've stuck to a lot of walking and yoga! It sounds like the weather is going to cool off by the time you hit your third trimester. Fall will be a perfect time to nest!

Lol yeah I think most people had given up on even asking us! :) Congratulations to you too - and I agree, fall will be awesome - for you, too, with stroller walks! :)

Hi Anne! We met once in Chapel Hill (or maybe Carrboro?) a million years ago (used to live there). I'm due early Dec (with my 3rd) so I'm happy to have an online pregnancy buddy :) Also it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who loves the walk breaks during pregnant running! (For me they are a necessity!). Good luck & will be fun to follow along. I'm curious to hear if your 1st tri has been as miserable as mine. (I think my tolerance has decreased with each one!). It's worth it though!!!!

Congratulations!! I missed this post so just saw the one you posted today. Had to comment - how exciting! I just had my first non-fur baby in December 2016. My son is now 5 months old and it has certainly been an adventure. I look forward to hearing about you and Matt's journey to parenthood!

Congrats!! I saw this on Instagram, but I am really late to the blog post party. Very excited for you guys. And on top of this, Matt got a Penguins Cup win also! When in November are you due? We are due in late Nov as well, although we haven't officially posted anything on our social media yet...
