Hi guys! We had a low key weekend over here – I was feeling under the weather on Friday but thankfully some extra rest had me feeling a lot better by Saturday, and totally normal by yesterday. Whew! I was worried it would be another long-winded sickness like I had back in April… that cold lasted nearly 2 weeks!

The big highlight of the weekend was yesterday evening – we had friends over for a fun grill night at our place.

We had some yummy grilled steak and strawberry salads with arugula, quinoa, and goat cheese – a recipe I was testing out for the blog and will be sharing in a few weeks. Grillmaster Matt was on point!

The salad dressing was a vinaigrette that had strawberries blended into it – fun how pink it made it! Yummy, too.

The two couples we had over have babies right around the same age as Riese! She had a great time sharing her toys with them. 🙂 They were so cute together – fun to see them all grow and change so quickly!

As for the rest of the weekend, it was super low key since I wanted to make sure I rested enough to kick whatever I had on Friday! No run dates, but we did do a couple family walks.

Plus lots of soup (and grilled cheese, because it’s awesome).

Time to tackle my to do list and overflowing email inbox. Have a nice day guys!

The quilt that the babies were on looked like one made from many of your races that you might have competed in-would that be correct? It looked so cute with the babies sitting on it. Hope you continue to feel better.

Yes, it is! My mother-in-law made it for me from some of my old race (and other!) shirts :)

She did a great job on it. It is so colorful for Riese to enjoy also.

That salad sounds delicious...and the dressing is super similar to a recipe I posted earlier this summer! Great minds think alike :) https://audrasappetite.com/strawberry-spinach-salad/
