Hello friends!
Iām continuing to have a fabulous time up north in Boston š There have been lots of boats and water involved!
Before meeting up with Tina yesterday, I had a farewell brunch with my college friend Kris!
We went to Temple Bar in Harvard/Porter Square area. Mmmmā¦ they bring you mini carrot cake muffins and coffee cake while youāre waiting for your food!
I had an omelette filled with sautĆĀ©ed veggies and sausage ā deeeeelish! Plus a side salad and some toast.
The plate was basically the size of my entire body. No big deal.
I ended up dominating the salad, eating about half the omelette, and ignoring the toast in favor of āhelpingā Kris out with her delicious french toast! Check this out:
Hells to the yes. Strawberry mascarpone french toast = win.
After brunch, I hopped on the train to head down to the south shore to meet up with Tina!Immediately upon my arrival, Tina, her husband Mal, and I headed to the coast. We had boating to do! š
Planning a visit on a day when your hosts have plans to go boating with friends? Total win. A bunch of us piled into their friendās boat and sped off to a beach nearby where we proceeded to spend the rest of the day playing. Rough life, I know.
We had a blast. There were some epic cornhole games:
(Donāt let that photo fool you ā I totally suck at cornhole)
And yummy turkey sandwiches:
And delicious Skinny PiĆĀ±a Coladas (Tinaās specialty ā recipe here! Although we used pineapple coconut water instead of coconut water and pineapple juice ā much easier!)
Such a fun day. š Itās great to see Tina again!
And seriously, how cute is Tina and Malās pug, Murphy?!
Heās discovered that if he āhigh fivesā us, he gets food. Smart dog š
After the beach festivities, we headed back to Tina and Malās friendās place for a BBQ. Their place was right overlooking the water ā jealous!
We had quite the feast ā whole wheat pasta salad, grilled zucchini and squash, chicken, and burgers. Yum, yum!
The festivities continued late into the night, but this morning, Tina and I were up bright and early to meet some blogger friends for a run in downtown Boston! Running is the best way to see a city, as Iāve said before š
Tina, Ali, and I all met at Elizabethās place in South Boston and ran from there. Yay!
We ran all along the water ā so pretty!
The weather was pretty gross ā rainy, cool, and cloudy, but I actually kind of loved it given that Iāve been running in 100 degrees with a bazillion percent humidity the past couple months. Summer in North Carolina = running kind of dies.
We ran 6 miles ā I havenāt run that far in ages with this crazy heat lately. It felt SO GOOD to get back out there! I had a ton of energy and felt good the whole time ā gives me hope that I havenāt totally lost all my running endurance this summer š
Our run was followed by brunch back at Elizabethās condo!
Amazing berry tart? Delicious cucumber, melon, watermelon, and mozzarella basil salad? Yes, please.
Donāt worry, I went back for seconds. And thirds. š Basil + watermelon = my favorite.
On the way back home, Tina introduced me to the amazingness that is Marylouās iced coffee.
Tina writes about this place all the time; clearly I had to give it a shot. We both had the āpeanut butter wonderfulā iced coffee and Iām pretty sure they put crack in it. It was that good.
Thank god I donāt live near this place or Iād spend my life savings on iced coffee.
Tina and I are off to find some lunch ā I hope youāre all enjoying your Sundays! Iāll be back later with more shenanigans š
