YAY!!!!

034

Finally, after 27 years of life, I made it to every kid’s dream: WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!

003

What a fun day! When Megan and Katy heard I’d never been to Disney, they were pretty much appalled. Clearly it was time to change that 😉

004

We met bright and early at Megan’s and were off — first stop, Hollywood Studios!

005

We had great amusement park weather — warm but not hot, and cloudy so we didn’t get crazy sun burned! 🙂

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios 🙂 I love FAST roller coasters!!

009

IMG_0099

LOL! I love roller coaster action photos.

I love how all the rides have themes and all sorts of fun entertainment. In Toy Story you got to shoot imaginary stuff during the ride!

007

Isn’t this creepy looking?? 🙂

008

After Hollywood Studios, we headed back to the car for LUNCH! The key to any amusement park, as far as I’m concerned, is to pack lunch and lots of snacks to save money (and not have to eat gross park food)!

We had a huge cooler full of goodies waiting in Megan’s trunk:

010

I packed:

  • Apple
  • Mixed nuts
  • Grapes
  • Baby carrots
  • Turkey, swiss, avocado, tomato, spinach and mustard on whole wheat
  • Kashi crackers
  • Hummus

I ended up demolishing all of it throughout the day! The apple and the nuts were a mid morning snack, and the carrots, grapes, and sandwich were eaten during our lunch break:

011

015014 YUM! 🙂 I ate the crackers and hummus later on as an afternoon snack along with a Mickey ice cream on a stick, of course! I LOVE these things 🙂

029

After lunch, it was time for MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

016

I was like an excited 5 year old when I saw this sight for the first time:

018 THE CASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 Hehe.

I loved all the characters walking around with balloons 🙂

020

Magic Kingdom was really cool — definitely what you think of when you think of Disney 🙂

032

We went on Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean! Pirates was my favorite — they literally have an entire world set up within the ride with all sorts of realistic figures and ships with fake cannonballs making huge splashes in the water around you, etc. So cool!

030

After Magic Kingdom, we headed to Epcot as our final stop for the night! Epcot is awesome — it’s built on a whopping 300 acres and features a “World Showcase,” which is a collection of shops, attractions, and restaurants representing 11 different countries. The different countries are all arranged around a beautiful lagoon! It was really cool 🙂

045

Look, we’re in England! 048

And there’s France!049

We also found hedge sculptures of Beauty and the Beast 🙂 How cool!

051

We ended up having dinner in “Morocco” 🙂 They had an awesome vegetable platter that came with falafel on greens, tangerine couscous salad, hummus, tabouleh, lentil salad, marinated olives, and a pita! Yum!

053

055

Epcot was so beautiful at night with the sun setting 🙂

056058

We were pooped after our long day of walking! We headed back to Megan’s and then… look who we found! Why, it’s Caitlin!

060

Katy, Megan, and I met her for a beer at a pub near Megan’s place 🙂 I had a delicious cherry wheat beer, which I slowly sipped since I had to drive back to Tampa a couple hours later!

059

Whew! What a fun and busy day. Thanks again, Katy and Megan, for showing me what I’d been missing at Disney all these years! You are awesome 🙂

I’m off to get a quick workout in and then my mom and I are going to have an adventure! Check back later to see where we go!

Have you ever been to Disney World? How old were you? 🙂

I've never been there! I am so deprived. I don't blame my parents for not wanting to take 3 screaming kids... :)

Just like you, I've never been. With 5 kids, my parents never took us ANYWHERE. We felt like the grocery store was a nice vacation.
Lol! Wait... so the grocery store isn't a nice vacation?! ;) -Anne

Glad you had fun, and energy to cover 3 Disney parks in 1 day! :) I celebrated my 3rd birthday at Disney World and that started a string of family vacations. I worked at Disney in 2004 as part of their college program. So to say I'm a HUGE Disney fan is a bit of an understatement.

I went to Disney in 4th or 5th grade. The hubs and I have been pondering whether we should go for a fun trip before kids enter the picture. That way we can run around to each ride and not worry about chasing little kids around. And we'd be able to enjoy all the big rides!

I think I probably went about 10x growing up! My parents loved it just as much as I did. The best time, however, was running the half-marathon through it in January! :)

Let's see... I went Monday!! My Dad and I went to the Magic Kingdom and it was packed. Didn't get to ride all my favorites:( But we acted like kids! Though, looks like you had a great time!! Its cool you got to see so much in one day. Tower of Terror is my favorite! Even the people working the ride are creepy!
Oooo I wish we'd gotten to do that!! So much to see, so little time! -Anne

Normally, I'd be jealous, but since this was your first time, I'm so happy for you! It's the best place in the world. I think I've been 5 or 6 times? Not once in the past 6 or 7 years though

I can't believe you had never been to Disney!! I lived in SoCal until I was 10 so we went to Disneyland all the time! Then we moved to TN and would go to Disney World like every year on Spring Break! I love it so much! I tried to talk my fiance into going there for our honeymoon but he shot down that idea super fast! He just doesn't love Disney like I do! Haha :) Glad you had a good time girl!
LoL! Worth a try ;) -Anne

I'm not sure when my first time at Disney was because when I lived in Jacksonville, we went at least once a year probably starting when I was 4-ish with friends? I even spent my 7th birthday there! Since we moved up here (almost 16 years ago), I haven't been, but I'd love to do the more "adult" Disney sometime :)

Just visiting :) My parents live here at the moment for my dad's job! I live in D.C. and took off from work for spring break from school - rather convenient to have the fam here in FL for me to visit :) -Anne
