Hey friends!

Awesome day today. Guess what I did?!

012

Heh, get it?? We’re spelling Y-O-G-A! 🙂 (We told Heather she needs to work on her “G” 😉 )

Apparently this coming week is Yoga Week in DC, and today they were having free yoga sessions on the mall! It was a GORGEOUS day, so clearly we had to partake 🙂 It’s random things like this I’ll miss when I leave DC!

004

I met up with Julie, Heather, and Liz for the yoga-sesh — an impromptu blogger meet up! Julie is in town from Pittsburgh and we had plans to meet up anyway, so this was perfect 🙂

The mall area was bumpin’ — everyone was out and about on this gorgeous day!

006

So cool to be chillin on a yoga mat right next to the monuments 🙂

008

We arrived at kind of an awkward time in between sessions, though! At first, everyone was just sitting around while the instructors switched out, and these guys entertained us:

014

Lol.

Then, the new instructor started leading people in fist pumps (apparently he missed the memo and thought we were at the Jersey shore) and various hand waving.

009

I decided to take matters into my own hands and led the girls myself in a mini power / vinyasa-style yoga sesh, complete with all my faves: plank, down dog, runner’s pose, crescent lunge, warrior 1, warrior 2, reverse warrior, triangle pose, and a bunch of chaturangas. They were telling me that if becoming an RD doesn’t work out, I can always become a yoga instructor 😉 It was fun!

I think you guys can probably guess what we did after yoga… FROZEN YOGURT!!! Duh.

018

This is pretty much a requirement of all blogger meet ups, I think 😉

We hit up a new place downtown called Fro-Zen-Yo! It’s a self-serve place with a billion flavor options… yessssssss:

015

I got a mixture of the plain tart, peanut butter, and mint yogurts and lots of fruit, complete with a cherry on top 🙂

019

Divine! Great company, too 🙂

022

Thanks for the fun day, girls 🙂 We need to play again ASAP!

And now I’m heading back out to a friend’s place! I can’t make it too late of a night though because my training buddy Ashley and I have 10 miles on the docket for tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Yikes!

Have a great night!

Ugh, that "G" is no bueno! Maybe next time I'll keep my legs straight? Not sure where they were going... I wonder what Yoga week means?? We should probably look into that. ;)

Can I just say that I am ubbbber jealous that you got to do yoga on the mall! I knew that this week was "yoga week" in DC and it looks like it was really fun! I moved out last week and your pictures made me homesick! P.S. I went to that yogurt place before I left and it was divine! If you have a chance to go back I recommend that red velvet yogurt! Enjoy the city :) I miss it terribly

Ahh, your pics make me miss DC!! But only a few more weeks and I'll be back romping on the mall...Can't wait! Is Fro-zen-yo a new place? My absolute favorite is Mr. Yogato in Dupont Circle...if you haven't been, you MUST give it a try!
