Good morning from Greensboro, North Carolina!

018

We’ve had a great weekend here so far for Matt’s brother’s wedding festivities. The rehearsal dinner last night was at a beautiful place called Proximity Hotel, which is apparently one of the greenest hotels in all of the U.S.! They even had solar panels on their roof (Lu, I thought of you!). So awesome. Check out how cool it looked at night from the outside!

019

The room was set up beautifully — the table arrangements were actually made with wheat grass! I was tempted to eat it 😉

009

003

And the food was delicious, too. Started with salad:

007

And then I had the salmon with string beans and mashed potatoes. Yum!

008

There was also cake, but I passed. I’m just not a cake person! I love ice cream, milkshakes, pie, tarts, fruity sweet things… but cake? Meh. I always had ice cream cake for my birthdays when I was little 🙂

There was a balcony off the room where we all had dinner, and the sunset was beautiful! Doesn’t this picture look we’re on a tropical vacation somewhere?!

016

I’m wearing a new dress from Target, heh. Major impulse purchase last week when I went there to pick up something completely unrelated. Doesn’t that always happen at Target?! Anyway, only $20 and I love it! They have so many fun sundresses right now 🙂

Matt and I just hit up the hotel buffet for breakfast, and he wanted to show everyone his breakfast versus mine, lol.

His: biscuit with gravy, eggs with cheese, hash browns, bacon, sausage… and a little fruit 😉 020

Hers: oatmeal topped with craisins, a little granola & brown sugar, sliced banana, and a packet of almond butter. YUM! Plus lots of fresh fruit and a little scrambled eggs. I did steal a bite of Matt’s bacon, though 😉

027

The highlight of breakfast was this 90 calorie Barney Butter almond butter packet I brought with me. Yes, I travel with almond butter. Doesn’t everyone?! 😉

030

SO worth it for travel! I need to stock up on more. I’m almost out!

Matt and I are going to hit the hotel gym and then head out to explore some before the wedding. I love how groomsmen don’t need any time to get ready, unlike bridesmaids. 🙂 A bunch of our DC friends will be arriving soon and it should be a really fun day, although I have a horrible cold and sound kind of like a man. Sexy.

Have a good one!

Those wheatgrass centerpieces are adorable. I am having my engagement party next Saturday and was going to make the centerpieces using orange and lime slices... but this is a cute alternative!

You should make your way downtown and hit up the Green Bean coffee shop. It's a pretty fun place with the best red espresso drinks and mochas.

Love the breakfast comparison! I'm going from Matt's style to your style. Just had a peach with Almond Coconut milk with a sprinkling of chocolate for dessert at lunch. Yum!
