Hi friends!

It seems appropriate that because I posted my Salmon Dinner Ideas blog post on Friday we had one of the salmon recipes for dinner this weekend!

salmon with lemon mustard yogurt sauce

Matt, Riese, and I went over to my parent’s house on Saturday for a very exciting event: my brother Steve and his wife Roxanne were in town visiting with their 5 month old baby, Daniel!

We hadn’t met him yet and we were thrilled to finally do so now that they are vaccinated and felt comfortable driving down from NYC. He’s such a cutie!

And Riese was sooo cute with him, wanting to give him his bottles and hold him, etc. It got me so excited to see her interacting with her little brother soon!

My mom made our old fave Salmon with Lemon Mustard Dill Sauce for all of us for the occasion and I’m happy to report that my super fickle pregnancy taste buds were really into it!

That sauce… I could drink it, it’s so good.

We had nice weather this weekend so we also spent a lot of time outdoors! One morning we did a short little hike near a friend’s place…

It was only about a mile, so perfect for our toddlers and for me at 34 weeks pregnant. 🙂 The fresh air was lovely.

We ordered sandwiches and ate in our friend’s backyard after which was nice. I got a sandwich with turkey, tomato, spinach, brie, and tomato jam.

It was yummy, I’m really into brie lately.

The other excitement recently was that my friend Chelsea and I met up for a walk date early on Friday morning!

I’ve really missed our weekly workout dates during the pandemic, especially because it would have been fun to go to some prenatal classes together!

We tried to get a self-timer bump pic and it came out a little blurry but you get the idea. 🙂

And I’m super glad we met up on Friday morning because her baby ended up coming last night!! 3 weeks early, but mom and baby are doing great. 🙂 So excited for her – congrats, Chelsea!!

Our due dates were only a couple weeks apart so this has me and Matt like OMG WE NEED TO GET OUR ACTS TOGETHER THIS COULD BE HAPPENING REALLY SOON!!

Anyway, Chelsea and I walked for a bit and then grabbed breakfast outside at Junction Bakery in Del Ray, which felt like a really nice treat. We split the avocado toast and the English muffin bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Super delicious. I have officially decided that this is the best breakfast spot in Del Ray.

I also got a pear croissant for good measure because it sounded yummy. I saved it for later in the morning and it was delish. I am not a big sweets person (I can take or leave cake, chocolate, etc. – give me fries over that stuff any day), but I LOVE pastries, so long as they aren’t too sweet.

Anyway! I feel like all of a sudden I’m really realizing how soon baby could potentially come… I’m getting my second vaccine shot this coming weekend and Matt gets his next week, so hopefully baby doesn’t come before then!

And I need to wrap up a lot of work, too. I’m planning to take an actual maternity leave this time unlike last time – more on that soon!

We also need to re-install the infant car seat in our car this weekend… and pack our hospital bags just in case! 🙂 In case you missed it last week, here was my latest pregnancy update by the way: 34 Week Pregnancy Update (Baby 2).

Have a nice day and I’ll see you back here on Wednesday with a super simple lunch wrap recipe that I’m loving lately – and a recent non-fiction book reads round up post Friday!

I totally understand feeling last minute with the second baby. I had to go get the infant car seat from storage at my parents’ while in labor. Baby boy was two weeks early (and the day after Christmas). Between a rather sick pregnancy, the holiday season, and thinking I had a littttle more time, I had some last minute work to do. It all worked out. I am excited for you and your growing family! So fun to have a nephew close in age, too.
