Hey friends – happy International No Diet Day! Yes, there really is a day for everything, but this one is especially important to me given the work that I do in my AnneTheRD private practice. It was also aptly timed as my Joyful Eating Program collaborators, fellow intuitive eating dietitians Rachael and Alex, were in town yesterday and today so we could record some audio files and put the finishing touches on our program in person! We got a ton done – and also had fun seeing each other in real life vs. on a computer screen. 🙂

In honor of today, here are some of my intuitive eating and non-diet related blog posts I’ve written over the years:

    • How to Eat Intuitively | A Guide to Mindful Eating
    • Because Being Healthy Means Not ALWAYS Being Healthy
    • How to Have a Stress Free Holiday Eating Experience (<- also applicable for parties all year round)
    • Why You Should Throw Away Your Scale
      • 7 Common Nutrition Myths (that you shouldn’t be fooled by!)
      • How to Get Rid of Sugar Cravings

And here are some from around the web:

  • “Why These Dietitians Hate Diets”. Love it!
  • Ask yourself: Am I doing this because I love my body or because I hate my body?
  • The Danger of Weight-Based Self Identity
  • Improving Body Confidence
  • Favorite Posts from Dietitian Bloggers (great round up of self-love and non-diet related posts from dietitians – this links to most of the other posts I was going to include in this section!)

It’s been a busy but fun couple days with Rachael and Alex in town to work on our intuitive and mindful eating group program! We spent all day yesterday at Rachael’s parent’s place out in Fairfax working on recording the audio files for each week of the program, discussing things like biggest nutrition myths, common intuitive eating questions like “won’t I just eat cupcakes all day if I can eat whatever I want?” and how to indulge without guilt.

Putting together a group program is a phenomenal amount of work but having two great ladies to work on it with makes all the difference. 🙂 We also had fun taking some group photos for future iterations of the website/program. I loved this running shot!

We broke for a quick lunch yesterday in between audio file recording and enjoyed some avocado toast, salad, and veggie burgers. Yum!

I got back home around 7 last night and Matt and I had a chicken and veggie pasta dish from Blue Apron. Loved all the veggie volume involved!

As for this morning, I enjoyed a variation on my usual Flour Free Breakfast Pancake – I used the same ingredients but microwaved it for 2 minutes in a bowl instead of waiting for it to cook in a pan. It came out like a mug cake – yum! Topped with some slivered almonds and blueberries and served with a side of the Washington Post travel section:

Rachael and Alex came over to my place to work today – it was so fun having them here! I wish we lived closer. 🙂 Since we got so much done yesterday, we treated ourselves to a longer lunch break today and took a noon yoga class at my local favorite, Edge Yoga!

The class was awesome as always – my fave instructor Mark was teaching and he gave us a good workout with lots of strength building poses. Whew!

Post-yoga we grabbed salads at Sweetgreen. The ladies had never been there before and loved it!

We put in a few more hours post-lunch and then called it a day! We’re feeling really good about how the program content has shaped up – we have a few more finishing touches and logistics-related tasks to attend to but otherwise we’re more or less ready for the first program launch, which is exciting. Our main issue is we’ve been having some trouble figuring out how MailChimp works (automated campaigns in particular) – if any of you are experts in MailChimp (and how it interacts with ejunkie purchases), we would be really grateful for your help. 🙂

Matt just got home so it’s time to wrap this up and begin the weekend! I hope you guys have a fun one planned. See you Monday!

I get hungry every time I read your blog posts :) Not a tech expert, have you all thought any getting "shelf space" through Google searches? They essentially list your websites higher when users search for keywords..

Sorry lots of typos above: Correct message reads "...Not a tech expert, but have you all thought of getting “shelf space” through Google searches? They essentially list your websites higher when users search for keywords.."

Such cute pics of the three of you! Love the pasta, spinach dish from Blue Apron. Great when they load up on the veggies.

Agreed - we usually add a ton of our own veggies but didn't need to for that one!

Hey Anne! I know this might be too late, but I know a thing or two about MailChimp! I use it for my business and have automated emails set up (though I'm not linking to an e-product). Let me know if you need any help, just send me an email!
