Morning!

I’m dreaming of the beach and wishing I were still there. Let’s all live vicariously through this final day in OBX recap, shall we?

IMG_2483

Wednesday started like the rest of my days at the beach earlier this week — sleeping in and a lazy breakfast, followed by a workout!

IMG_2476

Similar to one of our workouts earlier in the week, Matt and I did an out and back run and stopped around the halfway point for a mini boot camp.

IMG_2489

Our boot camp location was rather scenic. 🙂

We did a combination of push ups, sit ups, and dips. Quick and effective!

Workout — check! 3.6 miles total in 31:50.

While we’re talking about exercise, I wanted to give a little shout out to Champion for sending me some fun new sports bras a few weeks ago — they came on vacation with me and I’ve been loving them!

Champion is one of my favorite sports bra brands — over half of all the sports bras I own are made by Champion. They’re comfy, reasonably priced, cute, and supportive. Win! If you’re in the market for a sports bra, check out their new interactive Champion Sports Bra Finder — they ask you your size (in actual bra sizes, not S, M, L), desired support level, and preferred style, and then spit out bras that fit your needs! Pretty cool.

Anyway! After the workout, lunch, and a little wedding planning with Matt’s parents, it was time for one last afternoon at the beach!

IMG_2493

I spent some time kickin’ it in the waves on an inner tube. So peaceful.

IMG_2498

…Until I floated closer in to shore without noticing it and suddenly caught a MASSIVE wave by accident and rode it all the way into the shore!

IMG_2495

Once I discovered how awesome the waves were, I clearly tried to catch more of them. 🙂

This picture is like Where’s Waldo — see me? 🙂

The rest of the gang joined me in the water shortly after these photos. It was the perfect last day at the beach! I dragged myself away and hit the road a little after 5 p.m. to make the trek back to DC. Wah!

Back to reality — I’m off to work! At least it’s already Friday. 🙂

Have a great weekend, friends!

What’s your favorite beach? I pretty much love all beaches (and went to some amazing ones while studying abroad in Australia back in college), but I think OBX might be my new favorite on the east coast — it was amazing, so peaceful and pretty! I also love Cape May, NJ, and I have a soft spot for Rehoboth Beach in Delaware because my family used to go there together when I was in high school!

Hey Anne, if you don't mind my asking where in OBX were you staying? I am headed to Corolla in a few weeks and am hoping to find some good places to run. It looks like you found some sort of boardwalk!

My sister is actually heading to Cape May tomorrow--lucky her! For as long as I can remember, my family has gone to Sanibel, FL for vacation, and the area has some great beaches :)

:) It's nice that you have a work out buddy! Is it easier to workout when you have Matt around most of the time?

I'd work out with or without him, but it's definitely more fun with. :)

I love OBX! It's so peaceful! I also like Hilton Head and my family and I had an awesome time in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm in Florida. Although the beach I went to in Greece was pretty amazing too. ;)

My favorite beach is Captiva Island (off Sanibel). I went there every year growing up as a kid and you can find the most awesome shells on that beach! The worst beach, definitely the ones I've seen since living in TX, ha!

I grew up going to Tybee and Hilton Head in Savannah but I have a soft spot in my heart for Avalon and Cape May since I spent a lot of time there when I lived in Philadelphia. Really I love any beach!

My favorite beach on the east coast is in Kennebunkport, Maine. Kennebunkport is my place of refuge - I love it so much! You can't beat the beauty of Italian beaches though!

I've never been to the beach...so that's where we're going for our honeymoon! I checked out the Champion site, and unfortunately they didn't have any bras in my size for maximum support for my running. :-( Apparently they don't think someone who's a 36 DD runs or does high-impact exercise? Which is unfortunate, because they look and feel real nice, but I hate if I have to wear two bras to make up for one high-impact bra.

I feel your pain - I'm a 30D (who the heck wears that??)! Try figleaves.com - they have ALL sizes, including hard-to-find ones, in regular lingerie as well as swimsuits and sports bras! Pricey site (for me, anyway) but good if you can catch them during a clearance event or sale. There's often coupon codes floating around too.

My favourite beaches are in Hawaii. Especially in Kauai where the Na Pali Coast trail begins. The water is protected from the coral reefs, so it's crystal blue, warm, and perfect. Sigh, I miss summer. So far there's been no summer in Vancouver yet, only 2 days of sunshine this month! :( Boo

I love OBX, definitely my favorite east coast beach area. We were in Corolla a few summers ago, would love to go back. Fave west coast beach is in Coronado, the dog beach, since I can bring my dog, duh! Carlsbad beach isn't so bad either, of course that's the beach I get to walk to daily!
