Pickles Make It Betta?

Good afternoon!

I just made the most delish lunch for me and my mom. The star? Pickles!

012

Yum! Why don’t I buy pickles more often?! They make sandwiches WAY more amazing. Maybe I should add a new shirt to my fANNEtastic t-shirt shop that says “Pickles Make It Betta?”

Feta_makes_it_betta!

Totally just bought that shirt yesterday, by the way. I also caved and purchased these two… heh:

Will_Run_for_Bacon

Yeah, I’m going to go bankrupt buying my own shirts. No big deal.

Anyway! Back to lunch.

We had hummus, pickle, and mixed green pita sandwiches:

015

And salad!

011

The star of the salads was these Mann’s sugar snap peas — yum! So crisp and fresh.

001

As well as these amazingly delicious tomatoes straight from my grandmother’s friend’s garden:

002

Tomatoes are SO MUCH BETTER fresh from someone’s garden than from the store.

003

Mmm… also involved: goat cheese, avocado, and beets:

009

Yum. Love me some arugula! This was my salad, which was about 4x the size of my mom’s 😉

008

In other news, the Dave Matthews Band concert last night was AWESOME!

029

This is the 4th time I’ve seen them live and it’s always a great show. I’m always impressed that after so many years of touring they still look like they’re having a great time! Dave’s voice is so amazing live, too.

028

My favorites that they played were “Stay or Leave” and “So Damn Lucky” (check out their whole setlist from last night here). I was also hoping for “Crush” and “Dream Girl”, but no dice 😉

The only downside to the show was that it was outside (at the Nationals baseball stadium) and we all almost sweat to death. By the end of the night I was a total hot mess and looked like I had jumped into a pool. Sexy.

025

Before heading to the show, I met up with friends at some Capital Hill area bars to drink beer, eat pizza, and take incredible photos like this:

016

Hehe. This is definitely my new favorite photo.

I’m off to play — I’ve decided I’m taking the day off from BioChem studying 🙂 Have a good one!

Love the food pics (I think I need one or all of those shirts!) and the concert recap ! Ever since I met my hubs (a Dave "super fan") in 2004, we've been to at least 2 DMB shows every summer (usually the ones in MI & Indianapolis). They never fail to impress! Happy Weekend :)
