RECIpage & An Early a.m. Run

Hello friends!

I have an exciting announcement – I’ve finally gotten on board the RECIpage bandwagon! What is RECIpage, you ask? Well, it’s a recipe organization system for bloggers that allows reader to search their recipes by keyword, ingredient, dietary restrictions (e.g. vegan or gluten free), and more! It also standardizes recipes into a pretty, easy to print or email format. I’ve been meaning to put my recipes into this system for AGES but just haven’t had the time.

Another cool feature they have is pre-coded widgets you can insert into your sidebar. Mine is a slideshow of featured recipes, and I also added a widget that lets you search for recipes by cooking method, course, or dietary options right on my sidebar.

So! Click here to see my new RECIpage, or you can find it linked to on the main menu of the blog between “recipes” and “running.” I’ll keep my normal recipe page up for those that prefer that version (and because a lot of my packed lunches and things like that aren’t really recipes that I could enter into a system), but in the coming weeks I’ll also be filling up my RECIpage for you guys. I only have about 10 of my recipes entered in there so far but I’m hoping to enter 5 to 10 per day until everything is in! I hope you guys find the new recipe set up useful. 🙂

In other news, I had a great early morning run this morning with friends Karen and Turner! They live nearby each other in the city, so I decided to head over there so the three of us could run together before work.

We had a great run – beautiful morning for it, too! I love that it’s lighter again in the early mornings – although apparently daylight savings is coming this weekend to take it all away again… sigh. At least we got to enjoy it today. 🙂

We ran by the National Cathedral – what a beauty, especially in the early morning light. This photo almost looks fake!

And before we knew it… 4.2 hilly miles, done!

Total time: 37:22. Average pace was 8:51 minute/miles.

Between yoga and CrossFit and kickboxing, I’ve been rocking more evening workouts lately, but man is it awesome to be done with your workout by 7:45 a.m. Great way to start the day!

Anyone else get in any good early a.m. workouts this week? How do you get yourself out of bed? For me, it’s having someone to meet! And reminding myself how good I’ll feel once I’m out there (and done!).

I have been rocking the evening workouts as well. The mornings are still a struggle. But good job today!

I love morning workouts but since I teach 6:30am classes, it just isn't possible any more unless I want to workout at 4:30... no thanks. But I have always been more of a morning person so it's easier for me to wake up at 5 for a workout (which is whatI used to do) then to workout at 7pm.

Love morning workouts! I've been to spinning three times this week after a run on Monday with some strength training in the mix. Morning run planned tomorrow! Those hills look killer!

Recipage is on my list of things to do too! Seems so daunting, and I don't even have that many recipes!

I'd much rather do AM workouts but this week and next I'm taking a CF on ramp course, and that's in the evening. It's been tough to keep up my motivation and energy but I've slept in a little to compensate.

Having to teach a 5:30 am spin class or BodyPump class gets me out of bed! Can't miss it when you're getting paid to be there :)

I have NEVER been a morning runner until I started my new job in January and realized I had to get them in before work if they were ever going to happen. Since then, I've just been getting in the habit of getting up at 5am. I have a gym and locker rooms at my office, so I usually go to work, getting there by 6:45, and then run from there until 8-8:30ish and then shower and head up to my desk. It makes me feel so good to get everything done in the morning - like the rest of the day is all downhill (in a good way) from there!

Oh man, another thing I need to feel guilty for not doing for my blog! That RECIpage looks amazing - I must find the time... somewhere... to do it too. I can't run at the moment and it's driving me crazy. Enjoy your am runs doubly for me!
