Spring has Sprung

Hello, hello!

It’s officially spring and I am so happy about it! Everything is better when the weather is good.

Yesterday in particular was absolutely gorgeous, which was awesome timing because I had a walking date planned with friends!

30 weeks and bumpin’. (In case you missed it, here’s my most recent baby #2 pregnancy update from 28 weeks.)

My buddy Sokphal is moving to Seattle in a week and I’m super bummed about it – those of you who have been reading awhile know she’s one of my fave running buddies! I’m going to really miss chasing sunrises with her.

We met up with our friend Mary yesterday morning for one last walk – would have been nice to do one last run but at 30 weeks there’s no running for me at this point. 🙂 A walk was lovely, though! So fun to catch up with them both.

Those of you who used to read Mary’s running blog will be interested to hear that her third child has now arrived! He’s 4 months old and he came along with us for the walk in his stroller. 🙂

We walked from Sokphal’s place down to the monuments.

I hadn’t been down there in way too long since we haven’t been doing our early morning run dates! It was looking beautiful and there were lots of people out enjoying the sunshine.

Safe travels, Sokphal – we’ll miss you and I’m already looking forward to visiting. 🙂

We spent pretty much the whole rest of the weekend outdoors, too.

Matt and Riese picked up some flowers for us to plant in the front yard (and by us I mean Matt planted everything, Riese attempted to help but mostly climbed on Matt, and I sat there and “supervised”). 😉

Since it was so nice out we ended up doing a couple outdoor meals at restaurants which was also a nice treat. I didn’t get pics of the others but here was one of our meals – lunch on Saturday at Piece Out in Del Ray.

I was in the mood for something lighter (for once – I feel like pregnancy has me eating like a toddler recently), so I went with it and ordered their Greek salad with salmon on top.

But don’t worry, we had chicken fingers and sweet potato waffle fries (from our freezer stash) for dinner that night to balance it out. 😉

I didn’t get any other pics from the weekend, so instead I will leave you with some links of interest from around the web!

First up, I had a blast getting interviewed for a running podcast called The Final Turn recently! The co-hosts, Keith and Shawn, were really fun to talk to and we delve into all things running and nutrition. Check it out here.

Chatting with them got me so excited to hopefully start running again postpartum!

By the way – if you’re interested in running and nutrition, be sure to check out my Nutrition for Runners program – I co-authored it with a running coach so it includes training plans, too! Hooray!

Switching gears: is anyone else realizing lately that their digital lives are a disorganized hot mess? (Hand raised – especially all my photos!)

My friend Kath loves to organize things and has created a course all about organizing digital clutter (think email, calendars, tasks, files, digital photos, and more). You can learn more + get started with her free workshop: “How To Organize Your Digital Clutter in One Hour a Week.”

And now, here are two other links for you to peruse:

  • This is random but have you heard of a sauna blanket? My friend Gina wrote a post reviewing hers recently and I’m super fascinated by it. Obviously not pregnancy-friendly but very intrigued for postpartum!
  • This post was helpful – wanted to share it for my fellow expecting mama yogis: 6 Tips for Modifying Your Power Yoga Practice During Pregnancy

Have a nice day and I’ll see y’all back here on Wednesday!

Just listened to the podcast! Fun and informational. Can't believe that guy didn't drink a sip of water until Mile 19 in his first marathon!!

Right?! And he's so fast, too! I told him I'll def take full responsibility for when he gets to the Olympics thanks to actually fueling properly. ;)

I am sorry that Sokphal is moving away. But I am glad you got together with the gang one more time! I miss reading Mary's blog and I'm astonished that there are now THREE small people in her family! Wow! Thanks for the update (and the taste of spring!).
