Taste of Fall

You guys – the weather this weekend was such a treat! We had a nice taste of fall, which was really welcome after some scorchers recently.

Matt, Riese, our friend Shane, our dog Freyja, and I took advantage on Saturday morning with a hike!

It was so lovely to be in the woods, as always.

We had Riese in the pack for most of the hike, but towards the end she joined us on the adventure.

She’s a good little hiker! I hope that she will continue to love it as she gets older. 🙂

Post-hike we headed to my parents’ house to have lunch.

Egg salad sandwiches all around! On some yummy olive bread, mmm.

The other outdoorsy highlight of the weekend was a run date on Sunday morning with my friend Grace!

It had been ages since we ran together – fun to get back out there, especially on such a beautiful morning.

4-ish miles, check!

My longest run in awhile. 🙂

Other highlights from the weekend included some meals out with friends and lots of time in our backyard.

We have a holly tree with super sharp leaves so we can’t be out there barefoot which is a bummer, but it’s awesome to have the yard space for Riese to play. She loves helping us weed – we pull up the weeds, and she puts them all in our yard waste bin! Teamwork. 🙂

I will leave you with a photo of my fun new skirt!

I treated myself to a Stitch Fix (<- affiliate link) just for fun since it had been awhile, and this was one of the items that came. I really liked my box this time – lots of cute stuff!

Have a great day guys, and I’ll see you back here on Wednesday with a recap from my California press trip!

That skirt is so cute - fun pop of color! I can't get over Riese's long blond hair. It's so pretty! Your hike sounded fun. We've had fall-like temps here in Mn, too. August is usually super hot and steamy but it's been cooler which I don't hate. I especially love the cool nights - it's great for sleeping as we love sleeping with our windows open. And it hasn't been humid during the day so it's very comfortable outside. We went to a park with a friend and her son this weekend and the boys played for 1.5 hours! I couldn't believe how long they lasted. Our son is obsessed with slides and was able to go down these slides on his own (on his tummy). I'm glad we've hit the stage where he loves parks - nice way to kill time on the weekend when the days can get long! ;)
