Weekend Snapshots

Hi! I’m coming to you a day late with my weekend recap because I’ve been fighting off a bad cold… I had a couple AnneTheRD nutrition client calls yesterday afternoon that I couldn’t bail on, but I decided to take the morning (when I would normally be writing my blog post) off, in between baby feeding, to try to get a little extra rest because I wasn’t feeling so hot. Blech!

Riese had a cold a week or so ago… must have caught it from her! She’s been going through a bit of a sleep regression so the broken/less than awesome sleep probably wore me down and made it easier for me to catch, too.

Oh well! I still feel a bit crummy today but hopefully I’m on the upswing… we’ll see.

Anyway! As for the weekend, it was really nice out on Friday and Saturday (although almost TOO hot – what happened to spring?!) so we took advantage.

Here are a few snapshots from our weekend!

family outing

Saturday park outing with friends. (We met up in Georgetown at Rose Park which had a nice kid area for our friend’s 18 month old.

Riese got to wear this ADORABLE hand-me-down jean skirt for the first time… omg. And her onesie says: “Always be yourself. Unless you can be a mermaid. Then definitely be a mermaid.” Lol!)

Long mommy + baby stroller walk on Saturday morning:

Friday night grilling out at our place (chicken + veggie kabobs, steak, sausages, brown rice, and caramelized onion – soooo excited to be able to use the grill a ton again, it’s so easy for quick/simple dinners):

grilling out spring

Brunch with family on Sunday, featuring two fANNEtastic recipes – my Fruit Salad with Yogurt Honey Lime Dressing + my Smoked Salmon and Veggie Egg Casserole:

balanced healthy brunch

A latte + walking date (until we got rained on, anyway – oh well!) with a good friend after a restorative yoga class on Sunday morning:

spring latte

And lastly, preparing to get our spring herb garden ready to go via some errands on Sunday with the babe in tow.

flower shopping with baby

So there you have it! Our weekend in a bunch of photos.

Unpictured is the fun Matt and I had at my friend’s “Party Like It’s 1999” birthday party on Saturday night – and how fun it was to have her and her sister and their babies over to hang out with me and Riese on Friday!

It was like going back in time – especially since the friends there were high school friends I was actually hanging out with in 1999!

I am literally counting down the days until we can grill out. It makes me so excited! Our winter stayed way too long this year! It is time for some nice weather and sunshine!

Looks like a fun-filled weekend, other than the cold. But, what in the world is a 1990s party?

Haha - it's a party themed with food, music, and random pop culture stuff from the 90's! And we were supposed to dress up, too. :)

Thanks! They are SUPER old (like, from at least 5 years ago?) but they are JCrew! I love them... you guys will be seeing them in photos a lot until I buy some new shorts because they are the only old ones that fit right now... yay for stretchiness! :)

Hope you feel better soon! Being sick as a mom must be 80 million times harder, but you got this! Brunch looks DELISH; do you have a recipe for the muffins?

I believe they were these blueberry oatmeal lactation muffins that I first asked my mom to make awhile ago... she liked them too so she made them again! You can leave out the brewer's yeast if you make them - that's lactation specific!

I am clearly behind on my blog reading for the week... but what a lovely weekend! :) I hope you're feeling better. I LOVE your floral tank in the first photo, do you mind sharing where it is from?

Thanks Sara! The floral tank is an old one, but I think it was from Stitch Fix!
