I’m officially obsessed with my new CamelBak!!
Finally!!! After trying and hating both handheld water bottles AND water belts… I have found a match
I may or may not have had some trouble figuring out how to use it, though My mom is in town so she came outside with me to do a little CamelBak photoshoot. Things started well…
And then I realized wait… how the heck do I get the water to come out???
The water did NOT want to come out of the spout. At this point my mom started laughing.
Me: Okay but seriously… why does this hate me???
Me: Maybe if I turn the whole thing upside down to get the water flowing??!?!?
And then, finally — SUCCESS!!!! Apparently I wasn’t biting it the right way or something, ha.
I showed you, CamelBak As you see in the pictures, I found there’s a clasp on the right strap to hold down the tube so it doesn’t flap around. I’d highly recommend trying a CamelBak if you need something to run with — this was super lightweight, high on my shoulders so it didn’t weigh me down, and didn’t bounce or move AT ALL. I seriously forgot I was wearing it! Two major thumbs up. It was really nice to have water during the run and was easy to drink from without having to slow down at all.
Yay So cute!
We did 8 miles in 1:10, for an average pace of 8:45. It was pretty rough — I was feeling really tired by the end, probably since it was SO humid and gross out today (and I was out late last night… oops)! Totally made a bad call wearing a long sleeved shirt, too!
- Mile 1: 8:19
- Mile 2: 8:33
- Mile 3: 8:28
- Mile 4: 8:30
- Mile 5: 8:49
- Mile 6: 9:05
- Mile 7: 9:04
- Mile 8: 9:13
Whew! We did take two quick walking breaks at miles 4 and 6, which aren’t factored in, just as a disclaimer I was SO exhausted today — I’m proud of us for rocking it!
When I got home, I pounded a glass of milk and then made delicious salads for me and my mom topped with black beans, leftover chicken, green pepper, and salsa instead of dressing. Yum!
I find I’m craving meat more with all this running… does that happen to anyone else?
I also had some Kashi crackers and an apple Gotta refuel! And ice my knees, of course!
My mom and I are off to run some errands! Have a great Sunday, everyone — I’ll be back tomorrow with a DELICIOUS new recipe, so stay tuned!
