Good afternoon!

The weather is stunning and I don’t have any homework or studying to do this weekend — life is good! The cooler weather came at the perfect time — this morning I had a 7 miler on the docket for my Vegas half marathon training.

055

My girl Elle was sweet enough to do the run with me, even though she’s not training for a race right now. 🙂

056

We had a great run — 7 miles in 1:01:04, for an average pace of 8:43.

Splits:

  • Mile 1: 8:41
  • Mile 2: 8:51
  • Mile 3: 8:43
  • Mile 4: 8:42
  • Mile 5: 8:49
  • Mile 6: 8:33
  • Mile 7: 8:44

Hooray! It’s amazing how much cool weather and no humidity will improve your runs. The fact that the trail is pretty flat helped, too. 🙂

058

Thanks for keeping me company on the run, Elle! You rock. Wanna do all the rest of my training runs with me, too? 😉

062 2 + 5 = 7 miles. We’re really good at math. No big deal.

After our run, I came home to do some serious baking because I hosted a brunch party at my place today! I’ll do a full post about it later, but for now, here’s a teaser:

027

Major yum.

After brunch, some of the grad school friends and I hit the driving range. It was just for fun since we’re horrible at it. 🙂

golf

065

Look, I actually hit the ball!

I’m off to enjoy the rest of this absolutely gorgeous day. Hope the weather’s nice where you guys are, too!

What are you doing to enjoy yourself this weekend?

Running with friends is always so much better than running alone! Plus, I'm always way to scared to run a trail by myself. :)
