Good morning!

I had a fun rest of the weekend with my friend Ashley here visiting 🙂

Rocking my “I <3 Kale” fANNEtastic t-shirt, heh

In true running buddy fashion, we started our Sunday out at the Tobacco Trail in Durham for a run!

030

Matt joined us, too! 🙂

032

It was a great morning for a run — cool (in the 60’s) and cloudy. Perfect! The sun came out just as we were finishing.

033

I love this trail — so pretty. We ran 6 miles at a conversational pace — my first official Vegas half marathon training run! Felt good. Matt was planning to turn back early but he felt good so he stuck with us 🙂

Splits:

  • Mile 1: 9:24
  • Mile 2: 9:43
  • Mile 3: 9:34
  • Mile 4: 9:52
  • Mile 5: 9:25
  • Mile 6: 9:08

Total: 6.04 miles in 57:23 — 9:30 average pace.

Great run with great company!

After the run, the three of us headed straight over to Weaver Street Market in Carrboro for their Sunday jazz brunch!

036

Brunch buffet + having just run 6 miles = eyes bigger than stomach 🙂

034

I ended up eating the oatmeal (delicious!), most of the eggs, all of the tofu scramble (behind/under the salad — SO good), and the fruit, and saved most of the salad for later.

Ashley also has a friend that lives in nearby Durham, so I took her over there after brunch. I was sad to say goodbye to my buddy! She’s heading off to travel the world before starting grad school next June, so we probably won’t see each other again until spring. Sadface! Safe travels, Ashley 🙂 Wish I could join you on your adventures!

I’m off to class — Have a wonderful day, friends. 🙂

Did you run this weekend? How did it go?

I started my training for a (maybe) marathon this weekend. It was my first time to run over 3 miles in WAYYY too long. Let's just say I'm feelin' it today!

That's awesome! I started my Half Marathon Training last week! I made the mistake of trying Crossfit for the first time this weekend. It has made walking difficult...let alone running! lol! Keep on rocking it!

Nice run! :) I ran a couple of miles on the track for part of Sunday's 5 miler and I ran the fastest mile of my life! I was pumped. I might have to hit the track more often. lol.
