Hi guys! Who else is loving fresh fruit right now? Peaches especially are one of my summer faves… I’ve been enjoying them all week with Greek yogurt or cottage cheese and usually some berries as well. So refreshing and satisfying as a snack!

I’m also loving fruit on salads! Nice way to add a little extra pop of flavor. We had some grilled chicken leftover from earlier this week so yesterday for lunch I threw together a big salad with the chicken, strawberries, feta, cucumber, green pepper, and a homemade vinaigrette (olive oil, dijon mustard, lime juice, cilantro, salt, pepper). Hit the spot! I had some crackers on the side for crunch and extra carbs.

As for fitness this week, it has been an active one! Gotta take advantage of these cool mornings before the humidity comes back in full force, right?! I met my friend Karen down in Georgetown bright and early this morning for some chatting via our running shoes. It was so pretty out!

We did some running and some walking – I was tired and not feeling up for running the whole time and luckily she wasn’t looking for anything intense either so it worked out well. 🙂

Such a treat to catch up with her on this beautiful morning. Thanks for getting me out there Karen!

Yesterday morning I got in my weekly workout date with the girls! I don’t usually do back to back early morning weekday workouts these days because I don’t want to overdo it given I’m not getting super stellar sleep, but it was the timing that worked out this week for everyone so I went with it. 🙂

We hit up one of our usual fave strength training classes. It was a hard one – definitely feeling it in my legs today because we did a lot of squats and lunges! Oof. My arms are sore, too – it’s good though because Riese is in a phase right now where she wants to jump up and down in your lap all day while you hold her/help her jump, so I need to make sure my arms are super strong, especially as she gets heavier! 🙂

I’ll leave you with a photo of my little love – she’s looking so BIG and grown up nowadays, ahh! Part of me is like noooo, slow down, it’s happening too quickly! But it’s so fun to see her grow and change so much every day. I can’t wait to take her on more and more adventures as she gets bigger! We just switched her last weekend to sitting in the actual stroller vs. the carseat and she LOVES it – so much to look at!

Have a nice weekend, and I’ll see you guys back here on Monday!

I just realized that I think you have the stroller (and probably carseat) we registered for. Because we live in a "shopping desert" (the nearest stores with baby stuff would be a two-hour drive), we didn't try anything out and just went off reviews. How has it worked out for you?

This is the Chicco Activ3 (disclaimer: free sample from the brand) - we really love it. Handles really well, nice shocks and tires, easy to fold up, etc. Great for walks or runs. I hope you like it too! The only downsides are it's a bit big (no bigger than other jogging strollers, but big in the sense that it's not a good stroller for using around the city or in restaurants or anything - but it's great for outdoor adventures).

I’m just chiming in here because strollers are my jam- I know WAY too much about them. As far as affordable jogging strollers go, this one is fine for a general use stroller. But if you truly want a stroller that’s easy to run with, get a BOB revolution or a Thule urban glide. I would recommend getting a small, lightweight stroller with a carseat adapter to use taking in and out of stores and parking lots and then get a jogging stroller to use specifically for running. Again, if you want one stroller, this definitely gets the job done and works well. But I find it to be too heavy and bulky to comfortably take in and out of the car regularly and doesn’t glide as well as a jogging stroller with air tires and makes running harder.

Agreed on this one being too heavy/bulky to be in and out of the car with a ton - but I really like it for running and walking so far! Although I haven't tried the other running strollers you mention :) Thanks for sharing!

I recently rediscovered how much I love cottage cheese, especially with fruit! Too funny; I ate it with peaches this week too :)

Have you guys heard of the Jolly Jumper? Basically a jumping baby's dream, highly recommend it! https://www.amazon.ca/Jolly-Jumper-Original-Baby-Exerciser/dp/B0012AWZ3M?th=1&psc=1&source=googleshopping&locale=en-CA&tag=googcana-20 Can get the one that hangs in the doorway or the free stand-ing one. Fun for this stage!
