Goooood morning on this gray, rainy Monday!

First things first — voting is now open for Project Food Blog’s Challenge #2! Thank you all SO much for voting for me in the first round! If you liked my Fresh Thai Summer Rolls entry post, I would be honored to have your vote for this round, too. Please take a minute to vote for me and any others you like. 🙂 If you’re scrolling through the entries, this is the photo to look for with my entry:

100

Hehe.

And now — by popular demand, I wanted to start sharing some pictures of me and Matt’s new apartment here in Chapel Hill! Today’s feature is the bedroom 🙂 Enjoy!

001

The bedspread/pillow set is new and from Target, where we purchased pretty much all the little necessities for our new place, haha. (Does anyone else find it impossible to go to Target and not buy 100 other random things not on your list?!)

We thought the bedspread was nice but also manly enough that Matt would like it, too 🙂

002

I love these cute little lamps we got for the bedside tables, also from Target. There’s no overhead light in the room, so these are perfect, especially for reading in bed! I was happy they matched the furniture so well, and that they’re small and don’t take up much space.

005

Another highlight is this super cute set of pictures Matt and I found at a store going out of business. We LOVED them and I was able to bargain down and get them both for $20, woohoo!

003

004

They live above our bed and make me happy 🙂

And now, for my favorite part of the bedroom — my JEWELRY!! I have a slight obsession with dangly earrings and chunky necklaces. Don’t judge.

006

LOVE these cheap plastic earring holders I found on eBay a few years ago to organize all my earrings — they look super cute on the wall and make it really easy to see everything and pick out what to wear!

007

My other love is these beautiful painted umbrella necklace holders I got years ago from World Market after seeing them in a friends room and falling in love. So cute AND practical!

008

All together now! My shrine to jewelry. Randomly, I don’t wear bracelets or rings much, but I’m obsessed with earrings and necklaces 🙂

009

I’m off to hit up my tiny apartment gym before heading to school for my fun food science lab! Today’s focus is milk and cheese. Sounds tasty! I’ll be back with a recap 🙂 In case you missed my previous Food Science Lab recaps, check them out:

  • Way Better Than Chem Lab
  • Cooking MEAT!
  • Braised Beef Machacha
  • Learning How to Roast a Chicken
  • Tilapia en Papillote

Have a wonderful day! I’ll continue the apartment tour soon with the other rooms, if you guys are interested 🙂

Girl. I am in LOVE with your earring collection. I love dangly earrings, too! The bigger and more colorful, the better. Not big on necklaces though ... I have a couple, but the one I usually wear is my schnauzer charm. It's my version of the Carrie necklace ... instead of my name, I wear my dog. LOL!

Of course I voted for you! :D And I love jewelry but never buy it for myself. I always have a hard time convincing myself to purchase it over other things. The only jewelry I really wear is my wedding rings. But I always wish I had some fun, funky pieces to snazz up an outfit.

I love your earring holders. That's genius. Mine are always getting tangled. And, holy cow, you have a TON of earrings. They're my favorite jewelry item to wear, too. I just end up losing them and wearing the same ones over and over.

We are very interested in you, Anne. I was thinking yesterday that it would be nice to have a tour of the apartment. Thanks. I also have jewelry organizers that I bought at Stein Mart, but I have them in my closet. That is a great original idea to put them on display. Do you think I can sneak them out without my husband realizing it? I am also a Target freak. Good stuff. Love your Teddy Bear. I just voted for you - Good Luck.

You stole my bedspread!! :D I have the exact same one from Target - you have good taste, Annie! I am in LOVE with those umbrella hooks, btw. And let me know if you ever want some new jewelry too, now that I'm a stylist for Stella & Dot, I can hook you up! ;)

Aww, your necklace hooks are awesome! A few years ago I took over my husbands wall-mounted tie rack for mine. :)

ahh your place is so cute! I just made an out of state move recently myself, and my apartment looks down right barren! A couple items didn't fit in the truck (and weren't really worth the effort anyway) and I'm not in a place to go replace them.. result.. no furniture besides a bed.. but it's working for me! :)

Oh my gosh...I SO NEED those things for my earrings and necklaces. I don't think you'd be my friend if you saw the disaster that is my jewelry collection!

I'm a dangly earring and chunky necklace girl, too - no rings (except my wedding/engagement set) or bracelets. I've been putting off getting a wall organizer (actually I'm planning on making one with corkboard, fun push pins, and fabric), but my necklaces especially just don't fit in my table-top jewelry box.

Those earing hooks are amazing. I'm going to have to try to find something similar. I'm currently using push pins and honestly (and embarrassingly) they look a little jankey on my wall.

I love all your colorful accessories. I love fun and colorful jewelries too but yours are super organized. I have a clear container that I bought from Bed Bath & Beyond, they are handy because they hang in my closet and the clear windows allows me to see them all without opening the container and it's travel friendly because I just have to fold it and pack it.

I LOVE the jewelry! I have a jewelry tree but it doesn't seem as organized as your little spot for jewelry, hehe. I wish we had a target on Maui. When I went to school in Oregon I would go CRAZY there!

I absolutely love target! I definitely find it hard to stick to a budget when I go there. :) I absolutely love your earring/necklace displays and the umbrella hangings! I'm partially obsessed with organization and things like that really get me excited. ;) Great post!

Why did I not know we had this jewelry obsession in common?! This takes our friendship to a whole new level :P haha. Up until a few days ago I had all of my jewelry crammed in like, 4 different jewelry boxes. My generous sister just bought me this AMAZING jewelry stand from TJ Maxx, though...let's just say it's a jewelry-freak's dream. haha! Although I must say that those plastic earring holders look even better! I'm so happy for you and your semi-new life :) xoxoxo
