Good morning!

First things first — by popular demand, the nutritional information for my vegan Almond Butter Banana Breakfast Bars!

031

I made a new recipe page for the bars that includes all the nutritional information — click here to see! (A big thank you to reader Natalie for calculating it for me!) I think once I have more than a hot second of free time, my first project will be calculating the nutritional stats for a bunch of my most popular recipes. I know ya’ll are super interested in knowing and I am curious, too!

In other news — I met Heather at the C&O Canal Trail for another early run this morning — our very last one since she moves to Colorado on Saturday 🙁 Sadface!

001

Hehe best picture ever. p.s. Heather can you teach me how to braid my hair all cute like yours? 🙂

We ran 5 miles again today, but with a walking break at the turnaround point since the massive humidity/heat has returned and was sucking our will to live (er, run). But at least it was still pretty out 🙂

012

Stats:

  • Mile 1: 8:53
  • Mile 2: 8:58
  • Mile 3: 13:40 (walking break!)
  • Mile 4: 9:07
  • Mile 5: 8:50

Whew! And now, with a great workout already under my belt… time to get back to studying. BioChem awaits! Thank you for all your sweet comments on my post yesterday about my last day of work. 🙂 I was sad to say goodbye but I can’t wait to get started on my MPH-Nutrition program and really feel like I’m finally moving towards my goals!

…

Healthy Living Summit (HLS) News:

I have created an anonymous online form for those of you that were feeling shy to submit questions related to my HLS panel, entitled “The Ups and Downs of Pressing Publish: Getting Real about the Blogging Community.” Something you’ve been thinking about and want to make sure we discuss? Please let us know!

And remember — even if you aren’t attending, you can still submit questions and watch via the live feed that weekend!

…

Have a great day — and check back tomorrow for some new recipes! 🙂

An annonymous submission page is such an awesome idea! I know a lot of readers are sensitive about thier bodies and heath related issues. I bet you get a lot of feeback through that. :)

Whew, I'm in the DC area, as well, and I'm glad to know that the high humidity wasn't just in my imagination. My run this morning was so slow and sluggish. I'm definitely looking forward to cooler temps. Good luck with biochem!!

I love that trail too! But I can't run in the humidity (plus I leave for work around 5:30am and I don't want to run that early alone) so I've been banging out the miles on the treadmill. I love Heather's braid too. Y'all look too cute whereas I look like a hott mess whenever I run. Picture hair all frizzed and sticking out of my ponytail, red faced, and incredibly sweaty!

Those bars look delish, and pack a mean punch with their stats! I think I found my weekend baking project! Thanks! :0) I'm usually a lurker, but I just have to say...I'm uber impressed with you following your heart. I've wanted to go back to school for about 2 years now (coincidentally for the same program) but have found every excuse in the book as to why "it's not the best idea, right now"... Perhaps someday I'll muster up the courage. Until then, I'll read your adventures and live vicariously through them! ;0) good luck lady!!

Thanks for de-lurking :) I always say - it's better to try and decide it's not right than to never try at all and regret. Maybe start slowly taking a class or two at a community college? You can always change your mind if you need to :)

I'm impressed with your mile times given the humidity! I am a total wimp and have a really hard time running in bad humidity- good job, girls!

I am heading to the kitchen to make these bars. However, I do not have Spelt flour on hand. I will let you know how turns out.
