Hey guys! I spent the past few days in Boston for FNCE, the huge annual national Registered Dietitian conference. I’ll be back later this week to recap some of the conference and food happenings from the weekend, but first, some running fun! 🙂

We had absolutely phenomenal weather while in Boston – crisp and cool and perfect for running. It was a really busy weekend with the conference but clearly I was not about to miss out on the chance to explore via my running shoes!

I got in two runs while in Boston; the first one was with two of my best friends from college, Turner and Hunter!

They both live in Boston (Turner is normally in Philly but moved up to Boston temporarily for a year long job) and I was really excited that my conference travels gave me the chance to see them!

We made plans to do a fun run followed by brunch on Saturday morning before my conference madness began. The weather could not have been nicer and I loved chatting with them while taking in the beautiful views. It was also nice to not have to worry about squeezing in a super long run while there – so glad I fit in my last marathon training long run on Thursday before leaving DC!

The three of us did a 3-ish mile loop and then Turner and I did 2 more quick miles before meeting Hunter back at her place and heading to brunch!

We walked over to Newbury Street (so adorable) and snagged an outdoor table at a cute spot called Cafeteria. We came at the right time – when we arrived around 10:30 there was almost no one sitting outside, but by the time we finished awhile later it was PACKED!

I had the breakfast pizza with a side salad because I was craving some veggies. Plus a whole milk latte (x2)! The pizza had some fried eggs and ham on it to make it brunch-y. 🙂

So great catching up with my college friends – miss you ladies already!

My second run of the trip was with dietitian friends also in town for the conference! A fellow RD and longtime blog reader, Rainie, emailed me that she was going to be at FNCE for the first time and was hoping to find some running buddies, so we made plans to meet up for some miles on Sunday morning. I brought along two of my roomies – Rachael and Robyn – who were also looking to take advantage of the lovely weather! 🙂

The four of us had a lot of fun running and chatting – and the weather was just as amazing as it had been on Saturday! Running in fall weather = THE best. Love those gorgeous fall colors, too.

We ended up covering just over 5 chatty miles. So fun meeting you, Rainie! 🙂

Do you run when you travel? I always love exploring cities on foot, as you guys know! 🙂

What a fun adventure to Boston and in perfect time for the most amazing fall we've had in New England for a long time. I love running when I travel and how perfect to run by the Charles!

So fun! When I go to the sports RD conference, there are always people getting together for early morning runs. I always have the intention of going but the conference just wears me out and I usually end up opting to sleep a little longer.

Yeah I'm totally exhausted today unsurprisingly... but it was worth it since the weather was so nice! And luckily we didn't have to go super early either day because we didn't have events starting until late morning on the two days we ran. Made it much more manageable!

So true! Not sure I'd want to be out there in winter, but in fall it was perfection!

There's no better way to explore a new city than via your running shoes! Last year when my fiance and I were travelling around the USA I enjoyed running in New York, Washington DC, New Orleans, and Las Vegas. There's always so much to see, and it makes the miles fly by! I loved watching all the action at FNCE via all of your Instagram photos and stories :) It's getting me excited thinking about our Dietitians Association of Australia Conference next year. Definitely thinking of going now!
