He arrived back in town on Thursday for the holidays and it’s very nice to have him home 🙂

We hit up one of my favorite local trails, the C&O Canal, this morning for a leisurely run.

Brrr, check out that snow!

013

Rocking my sweet new shirt I purchased in honor of my second half marathon announcement Friday, heh:

011

We covered about 4.5 miles, mostly running and some walking 🙂 I’m actually pretty sore from my week of intense P90X workouts!

009

I will leave you of this pretty picture of the Potomac River. Quite the change from the last time I posted a picture of this spot, huh?

Enjoy the rest of your weekends! My mom, brother, and I are off to finish up our Christmas shopping 🙂

Enjoy your time with your family! I'm looking for a place to run up here in DC for the remainder of my visit so I will check out the C&O Canal! :)

We are expecting my bother back just after the new year and I can't wait! I haven't seen him since last August (2009) when he left for Germany and then he deployed in June. I miss him so much!

I'm glad your brother is home.....and just in time Christmas. Even better! I've yet to run on the C&O Canal. I normally run on the Mt. Vernon Trail, but it's getting a little old. Perhaps I could use a change of scenery. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

So, I had no idea that your brother was deployed. I cannot imagine how happy you must be to have him home for the holidays. Give him a big "thank you!" hug for me, please? :) xo

Great that he's home, Anne, but don't let that stop you from running him into the ground on the C&O! :-)

Wow I miss that trail :( This time last year was my first run on it, and it looked pretty similar to that...with a few rainy puddles thrown into the mix ;) SO EXCITED that you're doing National, too!! And so very happy for your Fam that the Bro is home safely. xo

Love the C&O Canal, but have only been in the spring/summer/fall. My favorite is the Billy Goat trail and rock scrambles. Love the shirt!

It's from a running store in VA/DC called Pacers - but I bet just Google the phrase and you can find them online!
