Happy Friday – and more importantly, happy Juneteenth!

Anyone else obsessed with hydrangeas right now? They are all over our neighborhood and so gorgeous!

Anyway – here are some things I’m loving lately/want to share. Feel free to play along in the comments! And just an FYI that the product links in this post are affiliate links.

1) Roasting broccoli straight from frozen!

Now that I’ve discovered the how to roast frozen broccoli cooking hack, I’m all about it – it’s so much faster/easier than worrying about chopping up fresh broccoli (or it going bad in the fridge), and it tastes just as good!

I made a little video for it over on my TikTok (my username is fANNEtasticfood if you want to follow along), and also made a more official video for the actual blog post that I’ll be putting into the post as soon as I have time!

2) Last month I shared a post all about my Favorite Natural Personal Care Products for Babies + Toddlers, and I wanted to share that a few of the products I called out in that post are 15% off right now through June 23, in case you want to stock up!

The ones I mentioned that are on sale are: the Baby Soothing Oil, all the Sunscreens (I love the spray + the lotion for me and Riese, and the stick for her face), and this diaper rash cream (officially the ONLY natural diaper rash cream we’ve tried that actually works on Riese, so major 2 thumbs up)! That website has a ton of great non-toxic products for adults, too, including makeup, bath + body products, etc.! One of my personal faves is the citrus mimosa body wash – smells amazing and doesn’t dry out my skin.

3) Books!

I’ve been a reading fiend lately – both for fun books as well as educational books.

On the educational front, I recently read Stamped, which I highly recommend for understanding the history of racist ideas and policies in America, and I’m still working my way through Raising White Kids. I also just started re-reading Janet Lansbury’s No Bad Kids: Toddler Discipline Without Shame book because Riese has been a handful lately and I needed a refresher!

On the fun book front, I just read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder – it was one of those books that really sucks you in and I could not put it down! I found it per the recommendation of my SEO/Pinterest assistant, Taylor, who runs a cool “Bookstagram” account (aka an Instagram account only about books) called Reader Haven. I have been really enjoying her book recs!

4) Yogurt + fruit.

I know this is basic, but plain yogurt + juicy summer fruit is so good right now!

I’m also still loving overnight oats, mostly as afternoon snacks instead of breakfast (because I always forget about it in the morning somehow), but it’s so good. My friend Julie just posted a recipe for Maple Pecan Overnight Oats that I want to try this weekend… yum.

5) Colorful dinners.

Matt’s plating skills were on point this week – check out this fancy radish situation! It was a yummy Sun Basket shrimp bowl.

We also kept our taco game strong this week, in case you were worried I forgot about Taco Tuesday. 😉 Speaking of: have you tried my Jackfruit Carnitas Tacos yet?

I will leave you with this photo game of “Where’s Zara?” Can you find her? 😉

That is Riese’s “diner” – cute, right? She’s really into pretend kitchen/cooking right now!

Have a nice weekend, my friends, and I will see you back here on Monday!

Thanks for the broccoli tip! I grilled mine straight from frozen yesterday and it was done in 10min and way better than fresh. Somehow fresh always ends up kinda raw. I can’t wait to try this with other veggies.

Silly question ... is there an alternative to oil when roasting the frozen veggies? I don't have any oil on hand ... I have cooking spray ... would that work??

Hmmmm. I think it would work, yes! Not quite as delicious though. :)
