Hello friends 🙂

I’m currently flying over the U.S. somewhere on my way to Los Angeles! I’m heading there for a Dole Blogger Summit and I can’t wait to share all the fun details. I’ll be blogging of course, but make sure you are following me on Twitter, too 🙂

And now for some entertainment while I’m traveling — the rest of me and Matt’s apartment tour! If you remember, I gave a picture tour of our bedroom, showed you my favorite part of the house (the porch!), and then kept you in suspense about the rest! Oops. Here we go, finally 🙂

First up — the living room!

Love the pretty fall trees outside the window. That’s “the basket chair” in the right foreground — my parents got it when they were first married (!) and I have always loved it. My mom was tired of it so now it’s mine 🙂

Here’s the rest of the living room — I’m in love with our big sectional couch. We just need to figure out what to put on the wall behind it! We are thinking of blowing up and framing some of my best photographs… any recommendations for companies/ways to go about doing that?

028

And, check this out — our coffee table lifts up!! This was the best investment we made by far. When lifted, it’s the perfect level for doing homework (hence why the girls always come over here to do homework!), computer stuff, eating, whatever! And you can store blankets in the bottom. Sweet!

030

Here’s the fireplace and TV — I’m excited to start a fire once it’s super cold out! To the right is the window next to the basket chair, and to the left is the door out to the porch.

031

View from the couch — again, the door to the porch, and to the left is the little hallway that leads to our bedroom! The front door of the apartment is behind us.

032

Next up — the other bedroom, which we use as an office/guitar room! This room is on the right when you first walk in the front door. Here’s my desk — love being by the window.

039

On the other side of the room lives Matt’s impressive guitar collection!

040

He’s an awesome guitar player so it’s fun to listen to him practice. And here’s his desk, with some recording equipment, etc.:

041

On to the kitchen! The kitchen is not one of this apartment’s strong points — mostly because it doesn’t have any natural light! Boo. But I do like that it’s open — to the right is a bar area so you look right into the dining room.

042

044

Love this mounted spice rack Matt put up for me 🙂

035

Here’s our dining room, which also doesn’t have any natural light (except what spills in from the living room) — hence why all my food photos are on our porch!

033

Like our Halloween cat? Heh. I keep forgetting to store him now that Halloween is over! Matt and I want to get a real cat… hopefully after the holidays when traveling has calmed down!

And last but not least — the entry way. Matt hung up this little shelf for us to hang our keys, etc. 037

And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed the official tour. We really like this place 🙂

Catch you guys later on from the west coast!

I absolutely love your coffee table. I want one, where did you get it. I love the basket chair too. It is now an heirloom. What happened to that pretty dining table from your previous apartment. I like it too

It's from a random furniture store in NC called "Ashley" - unfortunately I'm not sure what brand it is! The dining room table from my DC pictures was my parent's :)

I'm actually not entirely sure what the link is! I'm sorry :( It was from a store in NC called "Ashley" - going out of business so we got an amazing deal! The sectional is from Rooms to Go - great deal for something that size :)

I've seen those coffee tables and absolutely love them! I don't have a desk, so one of those would be perfect to blog on (and less back hunching). My kitchen in my apartment doesn't get any natural light. It's so sad. Oh how I wish for a skylight!

I like that you're repping your monogrammed bridesmaid bag on the key holder there! :D Jenny would be so proud. I LOVE that wooden chair btw, and that coffee table is really cool. You make me realize that we don't take enough advantage of the natural light in our house - our blinds are always drawn! Maybe that's why my pictures come out so crappy, hahaha. Your apartment looks great though, and I think blowing up some of your photos for decor is a great idea! We're doing the same thing with some of Ben's!

That is the coolest coffee table I've ever seen!! We have one that has little triangular benches underneath that pull out for extra seating. But I think yours wins.

What a cute apartment :) I love the couch! We're actually on a hunt for something similar so I can trash my hubby's old dark brown leather mancave worthy funiture ;) haha ok ok, i'll let him keep it, but it's only going in a basement or man cave!

The basket chair is so cool. I love seating like that that feels like porch but it's inside.

Cute place! My brother and his wife got a coffee table similar to yours. The lift feature is amazing! As for suggestions as to where to get your photographs blown up/printed/framed, etc., I'd suggest Mpix.com. My ex-husband is a professional photographer and he still uses them to process his pictures. They do excellent work and delivery is quite speedy.

Your apartment is so adorable! I love the fireplace, I really wish we had one (our new house will have multiple when we are done!) it get chilly in New England. The coffee table pretty much rocks to. Is that candle holder made out of a wine bottle? So cute!
