Hello friends!

I’m back to share the remainder of my adventures in Chapel Hill this weekend. Sunday was just as awesome as Saturday. The weather was wonderful, so a few of us decided a run was in order!

I miss running with these girls! I’m pictured above with friends Jill and Elle. Jill and her fiancé Danny (taking the photo) joined us for the first part of the run before breaking off to do a longer route — they’re training for a marathon!

We all started from the Community Center area in Chapel Hill — this is where Elle and I used to meet every Thursday morning to run together so it was fun to be back. 🙂

Pretty trail!

Once making our way through the trail and up a massive hill into downtown Chapel Hill, Elle and I broke off from Jill and Danny and headed onto UNC’s campus to continue our run.

This bell tower always looks so European to me!

We swung by the UNC well for a sip of water (and some photos) before continuing on our way.

This quad is my favorite part of UNC’s campus — so beautiful!

We had such a fabulous run — one of those days where I felt like I could have gone forever! I’m sure it was a combination of the great weather and being reunited with one of my favorite running buddies on one of my favorite routes. 🙂 My GPS watch wasn’t charged, but we covered about 6 miles at just over a 9 minute/mile pace. Awesome run!

After getting cleaned up, I said goodbye to Elle and headed to my old neighborhood to meet up with friends Tim and Lindsey!

Remember this adorable little guy? Their son, Hayes, is 7 months old now! He’s looking so grown up and was giving me the sweetest smiles. 🙂

We went to one of my favorites, Weaver Street Market, for lunch. It’s the local co-op grocery store — basically like a mini Whole Foods — and they have a great salad bar. YUM! I got a super random assortment — some lentil dishes, tabouleh, quinoa, tofu, chick peas, salad stuff, etc etc!

After lunch, Tim headed off to watch football and Lindsey and I headed off for a walk with Hayes.

We had a great time strolling and catching up on life on our favorite neighborhood trail.

After the walk, it was time to hop in the car and make the 5 hour drive back to DC! It ended up being productive — our wedding invitations finally came in on Friday (they took longer than we thought to get printed!), so Matt, my mom, and I had a working phone call to make sure we had the wedding guest list spreadsheet all sorted out and updated — basically figuring out +1’s, any address changes, etc. Instead of printing out address labels like we did for the Save the Dates, my mom is going to hand write all the guest addresses on the invites, so she’ll be sending them out this week in shifts as she gets them done. Matt helped her get stamps on everything yesterday so that’s good to go. Mom — thank you times a million for doing that for us!! I can’t believe the wedding is only about a month away now (it’s on October 13!) — we have a vendor meeting this weekend to make sure everything is under control and on track for the big day!

Have a great day everyone!

Have you had any great runs or workout recently? Feel free to brag! 🙂

Looks like such a gorgeous area! I've only driven through NC enroute to Charleston. Do you like living there or here in DC better?

I don't know, they're very different! It's nice being close to my family here in DC, but I really do miss our life and friends in Chapel Hill. I don't think it would be as fun down there if my grad school friends moved, though!

Had a great 5 mile tempo run this morning (did 10 miles total). Loving the break in humidity that's signaling the start of fall. Your pictures of Chapel Hill are gorgeous!

Looks like a great visit! I ran 10 miles this past Sunday - longest long run in months and took my first post-run ice bath! Hurt so good!

Chapel Hill looks so beautiful! Hopefully, I'll visit the area one day. :) I had a really good bike-run brick this morning. During triathlons, my bike-run progressions have been less than stellar, but I felt great today. Yaya for progress!

I just discovered a cute running trail near my new apartment - I covered just under 6 miles on it today and it was gorgeous. The UNC campus looks so pretty!
