1) French Toast made with panettone.

If you don’t know what panettone is, it’s a type of sweet bread loaf originally from Milan that is prepared and enjoyed over the Christmas and New Years holidays in Italy. My family sent some with me to Pittsburgh as a gift to Matt’s parents, so on Friday morning before I headed back to DC, Matt’s dad made us an epic french toast feast using the panettone.

French toast is probably my most favorite “treat” breakfast food ever. Totally worth indulging in every once in awhile!

With the french toast, we also had some bacon and scrambled eggs. YUM!

2) These diner-style plates that Matt’s parents own that we enjoyed our breakfast on. I love them! So cute.

3) The movie Les Miserables. If you haven’t seen it yet, GO. We saw it in Pittsburgh on Thursday and it was absolutely incredible! I’ve seen the musical on Broadway a couple times and I thought the movie was even better. Incredible acting and singing – and even though the movie was long it flew by because I was so engaged the whole time. I can’t say enough good things about it!

4) This awesome sweatshirt gifted to me from Reebok earlier this month.

I love the design – so hardcore looking! And the polka dot drawstrings make me happy. 🙂

What have you found awesome lately?

Want to know what's even better than regular panettone (which is indeed epic and amazing all by itself)? Panettone brought back from a small Italian family run balsamic vinegar "factory" in Modena, Italy that has 25 year old sweet balsamic syrup marbled into it. Yep, that was our dessert on Christmas night :) It had been sitting on my dining room table since getting back from Italy in September tempting me to eat it every time I walked by! Kinda wish I had one for New Year's too now.

Love those diner plates too! I wasn't all that interested in seeing Les Miserables, but after reading your thoughts, I really want to see it.

I can only imagine how incredible Panettone French Toast would be! And I'm still dying to see Les Mis! I was supposed to go last week but the snow storm put a halt in my plans. Happy New Year Anne!

Those plates are adorable! We have special pasta plates and I always think it's fun to eat a special meal off of themed plates.
